We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tina Yang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Tina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up my Taiwanese grandfather had a very unique way of treating us when we were sick or injured. We would often times receive cupping treatments and herbal tinctures when we were under the weather. My Grandfather was a true healer of Chinese medicine and he was constantly making Chinese herbal concoctions and tinkering with acupuncture, cupping and acupressure devices that would often times be used on his grandkids. I was always curious about his latest herbal formula, salves, and treatment devices and would question him about how to make herbal formulas and what each treatment tool was used for. To me, growing up these were my toys, and as I grew older these toys became a part of my tool box for healing. This is where my love for Chinese medicine began to brew and it wasn’t until I had my first son that I realized that my calling was to help other women and couples become parents. Being a mom was one of the greatest gifts of life and I wanted to share this miraculous experience with everyone. Having access to Chinese medicine and acupuncture during my prenatal and postpartum phases allowed me to have a healthy pregnancy and smooth recovery from labor and delivery. During my postpartum period, my mother cooked classic Chinese herbal formulas and prepared special food to nourish my body which aided in my recovery process. I had such an easy postpartum recovery that I knew that Chinese medicine was the path I was supposed to take to becoming a healer. From this time forward I dedicated all of my time and studies to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine.

This passion for helping couples start and grow their families led me to pursue a practice in infertility and women’s health. I started Revive Qi Health & Fertility Center as a sacred place of healing that provides the unique blend of the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine and the modern practices of functional medicine to promote deeper level healing for sustained health changes and optimal wellness.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Revive Qi Health & Fertility Center we offer acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Functional Medicine, chiropractic care, and manual lymphatic drainage services. We specialize in infertility, pregnancy and postpartum support, perimenopause and menopause, healthy aging, as well as adrenal and thyroid support.

What differentiates us from other practices is our ability to combine both ancient and modern modalities to heal beyond the physical, by addressing the root cause of health issues in addition to the symptoms. We are a team of fourth generation Chinese medicine doctors & practitioners providing Traditional Chinese Medicine and natural medicine for infertility and women’s health conditions for over 20 years.

We collaborate with the top fertility centers, ob-gyn clinics, and midwives in Southern California to provide integrative fertility treatments including on-site IVF acupuncture support, acupuncture for natural fertility and IUI treatments, as well as pregnancy and postpartum care.

As the founder of Revive Qi, I have advanced training in women’s health, natural and integrative fertility protocols that have scientifically shown to increase natural fertility and IVF success rates. I have implemented over thousands of fertility acupuncture protocols both natural and assisted via IVF and IUI which have significantly increased the clinical pregnancy rates of our patients.

While I’ve been practicing for over two decades, Revive Qi Health & Fertility Center and our Revive Qi Formula line started just two years ago. Previously I was the CEO and Co-Founder of another integrative medical center for over 13 years and in 2022, my former business partner and I decided to go our separate ways and dissolve this business. This gave me a new opportunity to revive and rebrand myself and my practice. There were definitely challenges along the way to launching my new business, however, all the hard work and struggles absolutely paid off in the end.

Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is that if you focus on your practice passion and hone your skills in your speciality, everything falls into alignment. The patients that are meant to see you come to your practice and the right team members and practitioners will also show up becoming a seamless, integral part of your clinic.

What I would love the world to know is that Chinese Medicine & western medicine can co-exist to offer safe and effective methods of health care to our community. At Revive Qi, we meet you wherever you are at on your path to wellness, and we empower you to make the lifestyle and health changes needed to be the best version of yourself. We believe that you can thrive in your life and not just survive. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A fun and interesting place to check out would be taking a sunset walk along the beach and trails of Terranea Cove Beach in Palos Verdes. The panoramic view is breath taking from Terranea and the premises of the hotel are beautiful to visit with delicious options for food and drinks.
