Meet Drew Tilk | Marketing Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Drew Tilk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Drew, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I often think about the quote, “Leap, and the net will appear.” Life is all about taking risks. The comfort zone is a dangerous place to be.
I’ve always struggled with staying emotionally present. I’m constantly thinking about the next step. While many people see this as a character flaw, I believe it’s helped me to see around corners. Understanding your risk tolerance is key to decision making. It helps you weigh the pros and cons. When I’m thinking about taking a risk, I tend to analyze the outcomes of each variable before arriving to a conclusion.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m excited to be talking about the venture I’m pursuing with a couple of my closest friends, Vacation Cocktails. We exist to celebrate time well spent.
This summer, we’ll be launching our flagship ready-to-drink canned cocktail line. Our cocktails are a labor of love handcrafted by our Co-Founder, Corbin Brown. Corbin’s spent the last year and a half mixing every spirit, syrup and citrus imaginable to bring to life cocktails that can be enjoyed any time, anywhere. We ditched the traditional black book of recipes to shake up something completely original. Day Spa and Hot Tropics are inspired California citrus and the moments you never want to end. Together, Corbin, Ross, Miles and myself have been dreaming up a way to get away from obligations in the form of a cocktail brand. We believe that a vacation doesn’t have to involve extensive travel or planning.
Starting a canned cocktail company from scratch is a difficult feat. Our team is extremely agile and solution-oriented. We’ve learned to embrace the tides of change and quickly resolve difficult issues all while balancing the daily rigor of our full-time jobs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The perfect week-long trip would encompass music, beaches, cocktails, beers, hockey and food. Here are some of my favorite spots by category.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My support system of friends, family and colleagues is truly too long to list. I’m so grateful to everyone that challenges me to be the best version of myself. I’d especially love to give a shoutout to my girlfriend Sydney and our two wonderful dogs for constantly lifting my spirits and pushing me beyond boundaries. Anyone who is willing to support you along your journey and question you for the better is worth keeping close.
