We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Rhone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dustin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I graduated college in 2013 and received a job offer the day after graduation. The role was for a digital media company, specifically in licensing. The hours were a typical 9-5 and I found myself answering to multiple managers. The company was great but after 4 years there I realized I needed to work more closely with people and connect to more individuals outside of an office. I always loved sales and working with people so I gave Real Estate a shot in 2018. Immediately I knew this is what I wanted to do. After 3 years of being a Real Estate Salesperson I studied for the CA Brokers Exam and passed the test. I started my own real estate brokerage called Espy Estates in January of 2021 and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I’m now an independent Real Estate Broker and can make critical decisions for myself. Also it’s such a great industry, helping others find their ideal lifestyle. All my clients bring a great deal of pride, passion and vision to the table, and so do I.
What should our readers know about your business?
Sure, well my company Espy Estates focuses on high level service and a relentless work ethic. I’m the face of the company and my clients work directly with me, no assistant, no team just me. I pride myself on a top of the line experience. I cover all aspects of real estate, wether you are looking for a single family home, income property, investment purchase, rentals or a commercial property. Also I’m looking to be bicoastal by 2022, working on getting my brokers license in New York. I will be able to assist clients on the West Coast and East coast so that’s exciting! The service and work ethic l that I bring to each transaction is always great but what really sets me apart is the love and passion I have for the process. I get to help clients out with one of the biggest decisions of their lives and allow them to realize their dream.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly probably hit up some golf courses or Topgolf then head out to all the great restaurants I know in LA. I’m a big fan of different kinds of food so I enjoy driving all over LA to find the best spots. I’m all about things I can do during the day but also don’t mind finding solid dive bars at night. A great drink to pair with the great food? Don’t mind if I do!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give most of the credit to my parents. My whole youth was dedicated to competitive golf. Countless hours of practice, driving me around, traveling and numerous tournaments all over the US. . They pushed me to my limits. All the hard work payed off and I was able to play against some of the best junior golfers in the world and reached top 50 in the nation at 16 years old. I then went on to play one year of D1 collegiate golf. I could never repay them for that but I can transfer that dedication, focus and drive into my business.
