Hi Dwayna and Donna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Initially, we thought, “Why not dive into the world of image consulting, public relations, and digital marketing?” We sensed a need – a gap where brilliant thought leaders and experts existed with services and products, yet their online presence resembled a digital hide-and-seek game. No social media visibility, missing websites – a total no-no! These things matter because first impressions count. Crafting a stellar brand image and being where your audience is (hello, social media!) are like the superheroes of positive brand awareness.

Now, fast forward with us on this wild journey! We became moms and found ourselves in the thick of the chaotic, marvelous world of parenting. Suddenly, we felt this burning desire – a fiery passion for creating a space for moms with dreams beyond the kitchen sink (no offense to kitchen sinks; they’re great, too!). We wanted these incredible women to shine, to be heard, and to discover their identities beyond the superhero cape of motherhood. Why? Because, as moms navigating entrepreneurship, we knew the struggle was real! So here we are, on a mission to make dreams sparkle and mompreneurs roar!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
TGND Consulting® – we’re not just a PR agency but the dream team for moms rocking motherhood and the business hustle! We’re the architects of strategic brand development, media relations, image consulting, and all things kick-ass in public relations and digital marketing. In a nutshell, we create awareness, exposure, and opportunities for emerging brands with a sprinkle of our innovative magic!

Flashback to 2016 when TGND, aka “The Girls Next Door,” started as a passion project turned into a full-blown career. We have over ten years in the game, mastering the art of sales and marketing, public relations, media relations, social media, image consulting, and strategic brand development. Our clients? Oh, just strategically featured in the likes of NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS, iHeart Radio, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Black Enterprise, Sheen Magazine, Rolling Out Magazine, and so on!

Now, the road to get here wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Nope, we’ve faced twists and turns and a fair share of ‘what on earth are we doing?’ moments. But guess what? Faith, mindset, and pure determination helped us on this road trip. We keep pushing even when the odds throw a curveball our way. Our golden rule? Never give up! It’s as simple as that. The journey might be challenging, but we’re here to celebrate through it all!

Our story? It starts with two millennial girls craving more, dreaming big, and realizing that the doors weren’t opening as they wished. So, what did we do? We grabbed the steering wheel, created our lane, and haven’t looked back since! Welcome to TGND – where dreams take center stage, and we’ve got a front-row seat just for you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Next up: foodie vibes! Atlanta, get ready because we are hitting the culinary scene with a bang. From soulful bites to flavor explosions, we’re taking over the best black-owned restaurants in town. We won’t forget to throw in the drinks as well.

So, it’s – city style, with pampering, deliciousness, and good vibes. Moms deserve a break, a treat, and a lot of fun too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to give a big shoutout to our forever-inspiring grandma – the real MVP of our adventure called life.! Life without her? Unimaginable! She was the ultimate boss lady, a powerhouse of wisdom and a sprinkle of magic in our lives. Even in her afterlife, she’s the heavenly cheerleader who whispers, “Keep going; you’ve got this!” She’s the heartbeat in our journey, reminding us to dance through the tough times. We are going to miss her talks and advice!
