We had the good fortune of connecting with Dyesa May Dadia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dyesa May, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
During my upbringing, I was fortunate to be raised by immigrant parents who made the courageous decision to leave their homeland in pursuit of a better life for my siblings and me. Despite not being wealthy, my mom and dad never allowed me to feel the constraints of their financial limitations. They ensured that I had new clothes every school year, the latest phones, cameras, laptops – you name it. It wasn’t until I reached adulthood that I truly comprehended the immense effort my mother had to put into her work to provide me with those luxuries.
Witnessing my mom’s daily struggles at her job, I realized that her sacrifices were made solely for her children’s benefit. Consequently, my ultimate aspiration became to retire my parents and gift them a house of their own. Throughout my entire life, we resided in an apartment that my parents had transformed into a place that felt like home, but I wanted for them to have something that truly belonged to them.
Undoubtedly, my parents played the most pivotal role in my achievements. Their unwavering support and selflessness propelled me forward, instilling in me the determination to overcome any obstacle. Their sacrifices and dedication have shaped my character and fueled my desire to create a better future not only for myself but also for them.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Seven years ago, I began my journey into the world of microblading, and little did I know that it would become an integral part of my life. What initially sparked my curiosity soon blossomed into an all-consuming passion. Microblading, a technique of creating hair-like strokes through tiny incisions, has become my artistic outlet.
Throughout the years, I have dedicated countless hours to honing my skills and expanding my knowledge in this field. The opportunities that permanent makeup has brought into my life are truly remarkable, and I am incredibly grateful for them. While the path was not always easy, it has led me to a fulfilling career that brings joy to others.
I am excited to continue contributing to the artistry and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved. The sense of fulfillment I experience when witnessing the transformative impact of my work on my clients is beyond measure. Microblading has not only become a profession but also a means of artistic expression that allows me to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a pretty private person. I tend to keep a small circle of friends and don’t venture out too often unless I am with my husband and daughter. Our family enjoys spending time at Disney, indoor playgrounds, going out to eat, and my daughter and I love shopping at the mall. Well, I like shopping, she likes being at the mall. On the occasion that we do have guest over, we really enjoy hosting barbecues in our backyard, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cooking and sharing a meal together is something we truly cherish.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support of my husband, siblings, and, of course, my daughter, Lara Mae.
