We had the good fortune of connecting with Dylan Sherry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d want people to know that my music comes from an honest place and that it’s the truest way I could possibly express myself. I put my material out without a guarantee that anyone will listen to it, I don’t have a major record deal or connections that I was gifted. Everything I’ve gained professionally thus far has been from putting myself out there and doing my best to network and promote. Music is what I pour my soul into, and I hope that’s communicated through the material. It hasn’t been easy, I still have to accept rejection and things not going how I had hoped in my head, but what I’ve learned and experienced pushes me forward to create more and share it with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s so hard to narrow down what to do in LA, we really are spoiled with options here. To eat, I have to recommend Casablanca in Venice, those handmade tortillas are to die for. Maybe grab a margarita while you’re at it. One of my favorite places to visit is the Getty and that should definitely be on the list. For a night out I’d suggest Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, if you want something a little quieter, Death & Co. or The Varnish in downtown are always solid. Gotta throw a beach day in there too though, Malibu is one of my favorite areas, but I’d advocate for Will Rogers on weekends since you can actually find parking there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would give my shoutout to Anthony Zarou (@uhhkenji on Instagram). He moved from Michigan to Los Angeles to pursue music and is one of the most passionate people I know. He understands how much effort it takes in order to take a real shot at your goals and still takes time to care for those close to him.
