We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Belser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting a business is PURPOSE! I believe that all meaningful and thriving businesses are built and sustained by the purpose behind the business, meaning what motivated you to start the business and what motivates you to keep going. Without purpose does a business have meaning? I wouldn’t believe so, and I believe businesses with no purpose behind it are simply transactional, meaning they were only built to make a PROFIT and nothing else. Of course starting a business you want to make a profit but a great business is not solely based on ‘’profit’ but PURPOSE.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a depiction of myself. The style and aesthetic of my creations are a visual of who I am personally, if that makes sense. Lol one of my greatest compliments is being called “different” or “weird” and my art stems from those notions. I’m so excited to share my future styles of expression in the days/months/years to come. I love what I do and that’s what makes it ‘look’ easy, although, sometimes it’s not. Never give up! That’s my greatest lesson and solution. As long as you’re doing what you love, you will continue to love what you’re doing. That’s what’s been keeping me going these past 7 yrs of business and if I can do it so can anyone else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Francisco is the heart of the bay, seeing that the city damn near sits by/on the actual bay. San Fran has so many options to choose from I could write a book on all the places to visit. From concerts, to parades, to parks and nightlife San Fran is a perfect tourist city and it’s where most people tend to visit when visiting Cali. Perfect city for shopping dinning, the works!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have so many people I can give flowers to that supported me along my journey but the biggest shout out goes to GOD, without god i honestly wouldn’t even be here today blessed to be writing this article .
