We had the good fortune of connecting with Edith, Yeeting Ho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edith, Yeeting, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success in 3D art is embracing the challenges that come with it.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, once said, “I wish upon you ample doses of pain and suffering.” His point wasn’t about causing harm, but about recognizing the growth that happens when we face difficulties head-on. I believe that enduring struggles is key to building resilience and character—two traits essential for succeeding in any field, especially in business and the arts.

In my own journey, I constantly remind myself of how fortunate I am to have access to advanced tools and technology that fuel my creativity. Yet, I still face obstacles, whether it’s feeling like I’m not a “nepo baby” with connections, lacking full support from my family in pursuing art, or navigating visa issues as someone who isn’t American. Instead of letting these challenges hold me back, I let them drive me. They push me to work even harder, and when I do achieve something, it’s even more meaningful. I can confidently say that my accomplishments are truly my own.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love creating 3D art without a set plan or knowing exactly what the final outcome will be. The magic for me lies in the process—experimenting freely with shapes, forms, and lighting. Whether it’s free sculpting, extruding 2D shapes, or manipulating them randomly, I find excitement in discovering unexpected results. By capturing my sculptures from different angles with varying lighting, I often stumble upon outcomes that wouldn’t emerge through a traditional, planned approach. My goal is to create art that stands out, and I believe that embracing unpredictability is key to achieving this.

My work often weaves in supernatural and futuristic elements, whether it’s through character designs or atmospheric techniques like HDRI placement. What makes my art unique is the sense of mystery and curiosity it evokes—you might not fully understand what the piece represents at first glance, but as you engage with it, different interpretations start to reveal themselves, gradually making the message clearer.

One of the challenges I’ve faced is the struggle for cohesion. Cohesion is often vital for gaining recognition in the art world, and I’ve had to find a balance between my free-spirited style and creating a consistent body of work. By narrowing my color palette while still allowing room for experimentation, I’ve found a way to stay true to my creative process while making my art more recognizable.

In addition to embracing creativity, I’ve also leaned into technology as a tool rather than a threat. Many 3D artists fear that AI will take over their jobs, but I believe that AI should be seen as a powerful tool to enhance our work, not replace it. Software like Stable Diffusion is a fantastic resource for creating 3D art and AI-generated pieces while still preserving the artist’s originality. The key is to remember that while AI can assist and accelerate the creative process, it’s the artist’s vision, intent, and unique touch that truly make the work stand out.

To the artists out there: If you’re not stressing, you’re not creating! The struggles, frustrations, and doubts are part of the journey. It’s in those moments that breakthroughs happen, and by embracing both creativity and new technology, we can push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to make sure they experience the most memorable and unique spots in NYC. First, I’d take them to *Sleep No More,* which is not just any theater—it’s a fully immersive experience that will leave you spellbound. The acting is phenomenal, the choreography is next-level, and the whole setup lets you choose your own path and what you want to focus on. What makes it even more special is that you won’t catch everything in one go, and that’s part of the allure. There’s a techno scene in a rundown bar that feels like real-life stop motion, and it’s truly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend going in with an open mind and just letting the experience take you wherever it will.

For a mix of food, drinks, and good vibes, we’d head to Gitano Island on Governor’s Island. The journey starts with a quick ferry ride from FiDi, and once you arrive, you’re greeted by a scene that feels like a tropical escape. Gitano Island, which has its roots in Tulum, is all about outdoor dining with a festive twist—think disco balls, palm trees, sand, and upbeat dance tunes. The octopus tacos are a must-try, and the views of the South Manhattan skyline paired with the sandy lounge area create a unique urban jungle vibe. It’s the perfect spot for alfresco dining with a lively atmosphere.

Between these immersive experiences and scenic spots, I’d make sure my best friend leaves with an unforgettable slice of what NYC has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In January 2024, I received notice that I was granted an American extraordinary ability visa under the 3D artist category. It was a pivotal moment in my life, allowing me to continue pursuing my 3D art career and live my dream in New York City. Although I’ve put in countless hours of hard work to reach this point, I owe much of my success to the support and inspiration I’ve received from others. There’s a list of amazing people who played an instrumental role in this journey, and I’d love to give them a special shoutout.

Suki Violet Su, a brilliant creative director and incredible 3D artist, has been a constant source of inspiration. Jinsol Woo, founder of OHT NYC, and Curry Tian, a renowned creative director, have both guided me with their vision and creativity. Chen Xing Ru a.k.a. CherryGun, founder of Lofi Online, and Cacien a.k.a. Garlica Princess, a famous singer, are not only talented in their own fields but have also been unwavering supporters. Jordan Hadley, who has been my best mentor, played a key role in sharpening my skills and offering guidance.

Most importantly, I want to recognize Jason, my boyfriend, along with my beloved roommates Chloe, Cristian, and Arno. These are the people who believed in me, stood by me, and supported me throughout the challenging visa process.

Each of these people has played a unique and irreplaceable role in my journey. I can’t simply shout out just one person because every single one of them deserves recognition for how they’ve impacted my life and career. It’s through their encouragement, collaboration, and faith in me that I was able to achieve this milestone, and I’m deeply grateful to have them as part of my journey.
