Meet Elica Atienza

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elica Atienza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elica, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When something matters to me, my first instinct is to keep going and figure out a better way forward. I also ask myself “am I still growing here?”, and if I am still learning something, building useful skills, or moving even slightly closer to the bigger picture I have in mind, that’s usually a sign to keep going.
I also pay attention to patterns. Temporary setbacks are normal and part of any meaningful process, but if something consistently drains my energy without any real movement or learning, that’s when I step back and reassess the strategy. Not to give up on the goal, but to adjust how I’m approaching it.
A lot of what I’ve done, both in healthcare and as an artist manager, has required patience and long term thinking. Things don’t always happen on the timeline you expect. I’ve learned to stay steady and observant, and make thoughtful pivots when needed.
At the end of the day, I keep going when there’s still purpose, still growth, and still a path forward, even if it’s not a straight line.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work in the health information management space while also managing my younger brother’s music career.
In healthcare, I focus on supporting patients and care teams through complex data and information systems, making sure workflows are accurate, efficient, and usable for the people relying on them.
On the music side, I oversee show planning, bookings, and release rollouts, and I serve as the main point of contact between the artist and industry partners.
What sets me apart is my ability to move between highly structured healthcare environments and fast moving creative spaces while bringing the same level of organization, communication, and follow through. I understand systems, but I also understand people, and I’m intentional about building workflows that work in real life.
During my journey so far, I’ve had moments where plans shifted, doors didn’t open right away, or I had to advocate for myself in unfamiliar rooms. Those experiences taught me resilience early. I’ve learned that progress isn’t always linear, sometimes the skills you’re building in one space end up creating opportunities somewhere completely different.
I care deeply about my work and take pride in being someone who can bring structure to moving parts and help ideas move from concept to reality. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far and look forward to keep learning and growing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Something I love doing is watching the sunrise at Rocketship Park. Driving up the quiet neighborhood hills and watching the city slowly light up is such a peaceful way to start the day. The park overlooks the whole South Bay and being there just feels like a reset and that you’re above everything for a moment.
We would also spend some time at the beach. I like walking the strip from Hermosa Beach, or even biking the coast all the way to Santa Monica. I think that’s one of the best ways to take in the ocean and see LA from a different angle. Baldwin Hills is another go to of mine. It’s a quick but rewarding hike, and the view from the top is one of my favorites.
For food, we would go to Quarters for Korean BBQ. There’s also a karaoke bar nearby that we could hit up after. At night, I would take them to Spire 73. I love looking out at the city lights from the rooftop with good music and good company.
I would also dedicate a day to going to Universal Studios. I love seeing the minions and the new Super Nintendo World. The energy, rides, and overall vibes of Universal are the best, so it’s always a fun and nostalgic experience.
LA has so many different sides to it. Some days are fast and full of energy, others are slow and quiet. That balance is what makes it so special. I’d want my best friend to get a little bit of both and see the city through my eyes, experiencing the mix of calm, chaos, and creativity that makes LA feel like a second home to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to shoutout my younger brother, Elsian, and my family. Building his music career has been a true team effort, and watching his growth up close has been both motivating and rewarding. It has pushed me to grow too, both professionally and personally. My family has always been my foundation as well, and their support and belief in what we’re building has made a huge difference in our journey.
