We had the good fortune of connecting with Elle Dimos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
It’s important to be a hard worker and to always put 100% effort into everything you do. To be consistent and to not get complacent once you achieve one of your goals, but to keep working towards and aspiring for more. Being a good person and making sure you are nice and respectful to everyone you meet and everyone you work with is also really important to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am a 19 year old Australian Dancer who has performed in Dream Dance Company’s ‘ICON’ and ‘GODE’, has worked as a dancer commercially around Australia, filmed one of Cobrahs music videos this year and who loves being inspired and challenged as an artist.
This past trip of mine to the US marks my 7th time in L.A. In Australia, if one wins a National Dance Championships Title, or a ‘Dancer of the Year’ title, they are awarded a free trip to the US. I first won a trip to America when I was 10 years old after winning Junior Dancer of the Year and while i was over here I attended ‘ The Pulse on Tour’ nationals in Vegas, where I took my first Brian Friedman class. From my very first trip I loved Brian’s classes, his choreography and the training over here. I loved the Americans work ethic and I was continually inspired by their dedication to their arts/dance.
I won 4 more Australian National Championship Titles and 4 more trips to the U.S. and with each trip, I connected with more and more dancers and choreographers.
During covid I was meant to fly back to the US but due to the world wide travel ban that trip was cancelled. Fortunately however I was able to train with many American choreographers online over zoom which was amazing and which kept me inspired over our harsh lockdown. It was during Covid that I had One on One Private zoom lessons with Brian Friedman which I was so grateful for. I continued to learn off him over the next year, and this year when he held workshops in Sydney, Australia I assisted him, which was an amazing experience. As was assisting Robbie Blue when he came to Sydney at the beginning of the year, in his workshops and choreography.
Over my past few trips to LA I have also been so grateful to have been able to workshop choreography with Brian Friedman, Tessandra Chavez and Robbie Blue which was so inspiring and which I learnt so much from.
In July this year, I attended Radix Nationals in Vegas, was awarded Runner Up Senior Protege and I have been invited to Tour the US with their incredible faculty over their ‘23/‘24 season as a Protege assistant to their choreographers.
And last month I signed with M.S.A. Agency… I’m so excited to continue to learn off so many talented LA creatives and dancers and to see where my American Dance Journey will take me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many places I love going to when I’m in LA. I love going to the Americana Brand in Glendale, The Grove, I like doing the Runyon Canyon Hike in Hollywood, and I also like going to Beverly Hills, to a restaurant called Avra. Another place I love to visit is Disneyland. And of course I love training and taking dance class at all of the amazing studios in LA!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In America, Brian Friedman has been such an amazing mentor. I’m constantly inspired by him, he always pushes me to be the best I can be and has given be opportunities which I’m so grateful for. Tessandra Chavez and Robbie Blue, are also so inspiring and have also allowed me to learn so much off them which I’m also so grateful for. In Australia The Dream Dance Company, Marko Panzic, Matthew Gode, Paris Cavanah have all been amazing mentors and have always been so supportive of me. And I appreciate them all. Village Nation and Brent Street for allowing me to train with them over the years. And Lastly, Get The Beat ( GTB), Showcase and DanceLife Australian National Dance competition deserve a mention for sending me over to LA and for allowing me to have such incredible experiences and lifelong memories.
