We had the good fortune of connecting with Ellie Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ellie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are many factors behind the success of Freedom Hair, but I would say the main reason is that Freedom Hair as a company does not compromise. Every part of creating a Freedom Hairpiece comes from a desire to create a quality product. Freedom Hair uses medical grade silicone, virgin hair, and has a family style production. This results in a product unlike any on the market today. Because of the attention to detail and unwillingness to compromise, our hairpieces withstand wind, swimming, and an active lifestyle.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have had Alopecia for my whole life, but was determined at an early age to hide it and try to cover it up as much as possible. When I was young, I did not know a single person like me and felt shame and embarrassment. I tried to move on with my life and keep Alopecia on the back burner. I graduated university intending on becoming a Speech and Language Pathologist. A future in that field did not end up working out and I was left without direction. I realized that Alopecia was actually a gift and that I could possibly help others find solutions. That is when I reached out to see if there was a future with Freedom Hair. The road was not easy, but I know it ended exactly as it was supposed to. Now, I can use my past experiences to relate to my clients and provide an empathetic environment. Freedom Hair helps individuals move on past their hair loss. With Freedom Hair, you can resume normal life without worrying your wig will be noticeable of come off unexpectedly.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question! I am always trying to get others to come to different parts of Southern California. I live in Temecula and we have a wonderfully quaint wine country. Our wineries range from larger to more boutique. I would plan a day in wine country visiting different wineries to try some tastings. If you are bringing a significant other or friend that does not like wine, Robert Renzoni Winery has a great beer selection. I also love Akash for the amazing wine and Bottaia Winery for the Instagram worthy views. Then we would end in Temecula’s old town for some eats at Goat and Vine or Devilicious. If my friend was still interested in drinking, Old Town Temecula has a few Speakeasies we would visit. Our next stop for some adventure would be Joshua Tree National Park. It is a very accessible and fun park to visit. You can hike, boulder, or take in some amazing cactus views. Next stop would definitely be somewhere on the coast. Costa Mesa has an amazing doughnut shop called Sidecar that has the best doughnuts ever. A couple of days by the coast would be perfect. Finally, I would take a trip to LA and Hollywood to show the usual stops, Rodeo, Griffith, the Hills, etc. Southern California has so much to offer! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to a couple of people in Freedom Hair that made it possible for me to be the representative in Southern California. When I first found Freedom Hair, the Independent Agent that helped me with my hairpiece eventually advocated to the owner to put me in the position I am in today. She was extremely instrumental in the start of my success with the company. The other person who deserves credit for my success is the owner of Freedom Hair in New Zealand. She took a leap of faith instilling me as the Representative for Southern California. I am the youngest Independent Agent in America, but she saw that I have the drive and desire to help others find solutions to their hair loss. I am forever grateful to the Freedom Team for their faith and support.
