Meet Elnaz Moghangard | Creator of 3:00AM | the conversational card game

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elnaz Moghangard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elnaz, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I live by the idea that “what you seek is seeking you” – a quote by the Persian poet Rumi. To me, this means that what is in our heart is there for a reason. Our dreams and hopes. The people we gravitate to. The experiences or meaning in life that we seek. All of these things are within our heart and awareness, because those very things are meant for us. When I mention the heart though, I am not simply talking about our desires. I’m referring to living from a place of truth and authenticity, which requires a commitment to our own healing, so that we are making choices from an empowered sense of self. That’s the tricky part of applying this quote to life. I believe every person is a walking story, and the greatest gift we can give ourselves is the pursuit of our own self-awareness. When we better understand who we are and why we want the things we do, we are better able to make choices from that inner knowing. When we learn to trust our intuition, we find the courage to create the life we want and begin to experience more alignment. It’s a life long process, and oftentimes, we have to make some mistakes to gain deeper clarity. That’s where the growth happens. During confusing phases of my life or when faced with decisions, this quote has helped me find a balance between recognizing the power of my own choices and the presence of a higher, universal power, that is guiding our lives. The way I see it is that if we are the swimmers and our lives are the ocean, then I see this guiding force as the current moving everything along. As we move towards what feels true for us in our heart, those things are moving towards us too. When the meeting of those two points finally happens is only a matter of timing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Throughout my career, I am most grateful for the ability to experience various paths and to make changes when it was needed. Every experience has taught me something. Even though I didn’t follow a traditional lawyer career route, my law degree and experience has helped me navigate my entrepreneurial endeavors and is still very much a part of my day job now.
As for my most recent creative venture, I created 3:00AM, a table-talk card game inspired by the honesty of late night thoughts and conversations that hit deep. While technically.a “game,” I don’t think that’s the most fitting word. I like to call 3;00AM “relationship-building and self-exploration” in a box. Each box is comprised of 150 questions that blend emotional intelligence and philosophy with the intention of inspiring honest conversation and meaningful human connection.
I had played similar games before, but I felt like the questions weren’t deep enough. I challenged myself to craft questions that really make us think, reflect, and feel beyond the surface level. I don’t want people to only hear each other talk. I want people to see one another for who they truly are and to invite understanding with curiosity. That kind of connection is rare these days, but I believe it’s essential for feeling alive. For me, a good question is not just about receiving an answer. It’s learning about who the person is, how they got there, and perhaps in what ways we can resonate with their story. 3:00AM will be the first product launch from my company, Souly, which is all about creating things that inspire people to live their most authentic, empowered life. The Kickstarter campaign for the game just ended, and I was super excited when it was chosen by Creative Capital as one of Kickstarter’s projects promoting positive, social impact. More to come soon for the official launch!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest, I’m not the type to plan a week long trip in detail! But, I would make sure we had some reservations and a general outline of options for each day. I think that leaves more room for spontaneity, and my best friends usually prefer that too. I moved back to Georgia a few years ago, so for a night out in Atlanta, my favorite go-to is Delbar for dinner, Palo Santo for drinks after, and if there’s time… then Johnny’s Hideaway for dancing to oldies classics under a disco ball. My friends and I also really enjoy going for walks, so at some point on that trip, I’m sure we’d grab coffee, go for a stroll at Chastain Park, and just talk.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family for their unconditional, genuine love. My best friends for being a mirror to me, celebrating my strengths and supporting me in times of vulnerability. My teachers and professors, especially in high school, who taught me to think expansively and encouraged curiosity. Every stranger who has ever shared a piece of their story with me and trusted me to be a safe space for them to express their thoughts and feelings. All the conversations I’ve had that have given me the opportunity to see the world through a different perspective.
