We had the good fortune of connecting with Elvia “Paloma” Phelps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elvia “Paloma”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
You can say I was fearful of starting my own business, but I find it adventurous, more of a journey of self-discovery and freedom to choose. There are so many risks and doubts that come with being responsible for your own success. Like you question yourself a lot. Those around you like your family, and those you considered your friends question you as well. But then you realize it doesn’t matter what other people think about it. Because in the end, it’s all about taking a risk, Investing, and believing in yourself. You get to build something of value that brings people together and helps them achieve the American dream. At the same time, it enables you to find your purpose and enhances your life. In the end, you could say it is all about trusting in yourself, which leads you to your dreams and starts with a leap of faith.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One thing that set me apart from others is how genuine and caring I am for others’ success as well as my own. I am more proud of how far I’ve come and the person I am becoming. I have a lot of work to do but every day I learn something new. My life is full of possibilities and adventure. Business-wise I got here by really focusing on what I want to achieve today that would take me to keep moving the needle forward tomorrow. A step closer to helping that one person you thought didn’t need but that one action was life-changing for them and their family.
It’s definitely not easy every day I wake up unemployed. My business consists of lead generating and how I can help the next person I come across and how I can be of service and add value to their life and if its a business to their business. I work on a referral basis so for every referral I get I make sure I give something back.

There are so many lessons I’ve learned along the way but a big lesson was to definitely always follow up, stay connected, and don’t assume what anyone is going through. Just be kind. Be prepared and do the work.

I want the world to know that everyone has a story to tell. some may think their story is the worst but everyone’s story is equally important to one’s success. I realized my purpose is that I am here to help those living up their spirits when they need a laugh in the day. To remind everyone our purpose is just to be happy and joyful and learn something from every situation we come across. No one is perfect and we learn as we grow and we grow as we learn.

As a Real estate agent, I am here to help. I understand that buying or selling a home is more than just a transaction: it’s a life-changing experience. That is why I am committed to providing exceptional, personalized service for all my clients. I take great pride in the relationships I build and always work relentlessly on the client’s behalf to help them achieve their real estate goals. Remember that I am here to help you find a home that meets your need at the place you are in life. For that reason finding a home that will be your castle, your sanctuary, and more than just numbers.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Real Estate agent, when my friends visit, we hit all the local places first. For brunch will hit local spots like Aroma Cafe & Tea in Studio City or The local Peasant in Sherman Oaks. For dinner at our favorite hidden sushi spot Iroha Sushi of Tokyo in Studio, or my favorite taco place, Salsa & Beer Mexican Restaurant in North Hollywood. For drinks, we’ll go to firefly, studio city. I like the atmosphere of Catcher in the Rye in Toluca Lake. We will have to visit the shops at the sportsman lodge and the new businesses that opened there. We will fill up the fridge with healthy groceries at Erewhon, do our hair with Madison Reed, add some IV therapy with Next Health and visit the other shops that open there. We will hit the museums and the last bookstore in downtown Los Angeles. We will have to hit the beach a lot as we usually like to do a staycation in Malibu. Our Amazing city of LA has so many unique communities to visit that it is hard to pick and choose. There is definitely something for everyone. I love this city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve learned so much from my mentor Tom Hernandez at KW studio city. One of the things he has helped me understand is that we provide a service. We do not have a product in our hands as we lead, generate, and provide a service uniquely tailored to each client based on their needs and wants. The result is We help solve a problem by finding solutions. By assisting them in finding a long-term home that serves them at their stage, they are in life, to guide them through one of the most important investments of their lives. Being of service to others is more than a job is a way to make our dreams come to fruition.
