Meet Eman Nafisa | Talent Agent & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eman Nafisa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eman, what role has risk played in your life or career?
There is no reward without risk. I always remind myself: what’s the worse that can happen? I’ll either land on my feet or I will fall and get back up. Either way, I will still end up on the right path. There are various routes to get to your final destination. I took a huge risk deciding to not work in the medical field and working in the entertainment space. Working in entertainment comes with a lot of risks. There were risks before the pandemic. But the pandemic has shown even more risks. The writers and actors strikes as well have shown how tumultuous the industry can be.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a talent agent and a model. I followed my path and went to college and graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences with the intent to go to medical school. One day, I decided that wasn’t the path for me anymore. I worked as a nanny and biology tutor while getting a Master’s in Forensic Sciences. Once I finished my master’s program, I was in between jobs and decided to take a job in the entertainment industry. I always said I would never work in the entertainment industry and it’s funny how life works out. We are also told from a young age not to pursue the arts because it doesn’t pay the bills. Therefore, I think a lot of us just put our creative passions in a box and bury that box.
One of the biggest struggles was pursuing my creative passions when everyone is telling me not to. They want you to do something that is “safe”. With anything in life, there are a lot of no’s to get to your few yeses. The struggles are worth it when you are doing things you love. I believe we should all live being our authentic selves and that is the key to success, no matter where you are in life.
What sets me apart from others is that I genuinely care about and love people. I try to always make others feel seen and I think that is so important. That is what has allowed me to land Iskra Lawrence and Ella Halikas as clients on my talent roster.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honey’s Kettle Fried Chicken
The Doughroom
Elephante
Getty Center
Chateau Marmont
Sunset Tower Hotel
Delilah
Runyon Canyon Park
The Beverly Hills Hotel

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my friend, Monica. She is the one who helped me see that I would be a great addition to the entertainment space and reminded me to stop playing small.
