Meet Emilia D’Anzica | Founder, Managing Partner, Growth Molecules, Customer Success Advisory

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilia D’Anzica and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emilia, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
The first step to changing balance perceptions is understanding that work-life balance does not exist.
Instead, follow these two simple steps for avoiding burn-out and achieving personal and professional goals:
As a parent in the thick of child needs, I have learned that setting boundaries for when I am and am not available is very powerful in my mental well-being.
1. During the week, I am available for my team, clients, and partners from 9 am to 4:45 pm most days. I also book a solid, uninterrupted 60 minutes at 1 PM for lunch, walking, and me time!
2. On the weekends, I am not available for 2 hours in the morning to go for a walk, hit a gym class, or read a book. Knowing that I am not my best self for others when I do not care for myself is how I commit to my boundaries without guilt.
*For a parent who isn’t able to find time for themselves, it is important to rest when their children are sleeping and ask a friend for help for even 30 minutes so they can care for themselves. Also, finding a local parent support group, like a library parent meetup, can make a huge difference in how one feels. I remember going to the library for toddler reading time and breathing a huge sigh of relief being with other parents chatting while the kids listened to books, played lego, and learned together. In these moments for ourselves, we knew we were creating what meant balance for us as we built our businesses and careers – in these moments, we knew we weren’t alone, which creates balance.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the proud Founder and Managing Partner of Growth Molecules™, a management advisory firm. We are proud to help B2B and B2B2C companies protect and grow revenue.
We Do This in 3 Ways:
1. We assess your current capabilities (people, processes, systems).
2. We implement new solutions (such as playbooks, segmentation, health scores, customer success platforms
2. We execute them (with fractional leadership, workshops, and training through the Growth Molecules™ academy).
What Sets Us Apart: We have experienced customer success practitioners that have served in customer success management, support, professional services, community, and in leadership roles, including chief customer officer.
The company went from $0 & 0 customers to over hundreds of clients, thousands of students + over 70 G2 reviews. 82% of our clients expand their services with Growth Molecules. This success results from hard work, grit, experience, and passion. It was not easy as I started the firm in August of 2020 – The thick of the Pandemic!
I overcame the challenges by surrounding myself with intelligent professionals, inviting experienced customer success professionals to join the consulting team, ignoring the negative fear-induced opinions, and believing in myself and what I could build.
Top 3 Lessons:
1. Overcome your imposter syndrome and believe in your experience and what you can accomplish.
2. Work on your business every single day. Small steps amount to significant progress. It can be as simple as writing one paragraph daily, reading one page of a business book daily, or listening to one podcast.
3. I built this brand to be inclusive and to bring best practices in customer success to companies so they can protect and grow revenue.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a short stay in LA, (where I will be soon to do a tour of UCLA with my daughter!), I would spend time in Santa Monica on the boardwalk, enjoy small local eateries, and watch the waves roll in. In the UCLA area, Diddy Riese is a cool ice cream spot one of my friends just recommended and I can’t wait to check it out!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My co-author of ‘Pressing On as a Tech Mom’, (PressingOnBook.com) and business partner in Growth Molecules™, Sabina Pons deserves a huge shoutout!
We push, support, and challenge each other. Sabina is inspiring, has positive energy that is contagious, and continually strives to make organizations more inclusive and successful in their revenue goals. She is also an amazing mom and business partner.
