We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was something I had been dreaming about for a long time. After years of working in the corporate world, I felt it was time to take control of my career and create something that would be both personally and professionally rewarding. It seemed like a natural step forward to me: taking my skillset from the corporate environment and combining it with the creativity and independence of running my own business.

I wanted to create a product or service that could make a difference in people’s lives while also giving me financial security and allowing me to continue learning and growing as an entrepreneur. It seemed like a win-win situation! So, armed with determination and ambition, I took the plunge and started my own business.

I can appreciate why certain things are in place in the corporate world – i.e., vacation days, time off requests, designated lunch breaks, set daily work schedules, etc. But the idea of someone else dictating my time never set well with me. That was one of the most significant components of making my decision – taking more control over my time.

What should our readers know about your business?
One thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m open to showing my flaws and struggles, which is uncommon in the content creation space. I want to relate to people and let them know that success is a journey and not something that happens easily.

Instead of selling myself as a guru and titan of industry, I offer more insight into the struggles and battles that I face while pursuing my goals. It’s not all glitter and roses, and I want other people who also aspire to pursue their dreams that they can do it too with hard work. That excites me the most.

There’s definitely something to learn from other content creators that have “made it”, but seeing only the shiny results of their labor can be daunting and not a full depiction of the work that went behind it. I want those who engage with my content to follow me along my journey and see what the result of grit and determination produces.

After all, getting to where I am today was no walk in the park. I hit many walls, had to pivot many times, and often wanted to quit. With the support of my friends and family, great books, and motivational speakers, I found my way. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that resilience and determination play the most significant role in your success. Without it, you’ve already lost.

It sounds simple, but moving forward despite immediate gratification and wins is the key to success. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. And often, we must fight to see the results we intend to have.

From my blog to my newly launched YouTube channel, I want to equip people with the tools necessary to succeed in entrepreneurship and at any other personal goal. For example, when I started my first online business, I had no idea what I was doing. So, I took what I learned along the way and provided full details on all of the tools and steps I took to get my business off the ground in one of my latest posts: “The Ultimate Checklist for Starting an Online Business” https://www.businesscreditblitz.com/checklist-for-starting-an-online-business/.

I also launched a video on my YouTube channel covering the two things that led to me finally achieving success. I enjoy opening the playbook to winning and succeeding in life. That’s what I’m most proud of when it comes to my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love elements of nature, so if I were to show my best friend around the city a few stops we’d have to make include OUE Skyspace at night to get an amazing view of the city, and the Palos Verdes shoreline hike. I’d also squeeze in the Broad Museum, eat good Mexican food at Javier’s, and grab some healthy snacks from Backyard Bowls. I’d also bike ride through Venice, Santa Monica, and Malibu to people-watch, eat, and cruise.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, my friends and family have all played a pivotal role in my growth and development. And I’ve given praise to them for their efforts on many occasions. They are key components that motivate me to work hard daily. But today, I want to highlight the impact a handful of books had on me, starting with the “4-Hour Workweek”. This book gave me the confidence to take risks and push boundaries. It opened my mind to the possibilities of creating a lifestyle that would allow me to have more control over my time and choices.

Another great book that inspired me to get up and take action is “You Are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. This book gave me the tools to break through my own barriers and find the courage within myself to pursue what I want in life. It taught me that being scared doesn’t mean you can’t do something. It just means you must be brave enough to take risks and face your fears head-on.

“The 10X Rule” is another book that had a profound effect on my life. This book taught me the importance of setting massive goals and putting in the effort to make them happen. It gave me a blueprint for success and showed me that with persistence, I could achieve anything.

The book that exposed a weakness that I didn’t know was there is “Grit” By Angela Duckworth. This book showed me that a lot of what I thought was strength was just comfort. It made me realize that pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and tackling challenging tasks is the only way to truly grow as an individual.

“Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins is the last, but certainly not least, book that I feel most impacted me. This book taught me about resilience and how to push through even during trying times. It provided a strong and inspiring message that no matter what life throws at you, with enough courage and determination, you can make it through anything.

These five books have changed my life for the better, and I am forever grateful that I read them. They have given me much insight into how to live my best life and reach my full potential. It shows that books can be a valuable source of knowledge and inspiration if you take the time to dig deep enough.
