We had the good fortune of connecting with Ervin Cordero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ervin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because my talent and creativity is God’s gift to me and using it is my gift to the world. A creative career is freedom in my perspective. This is because being able to express my creativity is one thing, but making a living off of it is a dream come true.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run and operate a music and tech company called Traklife Music Network based in Los Angeles, CA. We serve our emerging and independent music community by providing them a platform to market their brand and story and allowing fans to discover new music and artists. Our platform is unique because in an industry thats notorious for gatekeeping and exclusivity, we help up and coming artists with opportunities to be heard and share tools and resources that can advance their careers in music.

It wasn’t an easy road, but definitely one we can be proud of because of how it formed in an organic fashion. From an online radio and DJ mix show to becoming a multi-format media company with staff and clientele across the country, we’ve come a long way and in a pathway where we are making a direct impact on our target market. Through marketing and media, our company and platform is a launchpad for emerging artists. We take pride in the opportunities we provide and invite all music professionals, artists, and creatives to explore the possibilities of what we can achieve together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in Los Angeles would include a day or 2 to see all the popular sights such as Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Venice Beach, etc. Then another day to do a theme park like Disneyland or Universal Studios. The best part of living in Los Angeles is the things most locals do on a day to day. This is why for the rest of week-long trip would be to just wing it and relax and go where our mood takes us. Whether its our for a cup of coffee, try out different cuisines around LA or Orange County, catch a concert, go partying, or go shopping. We can even go snowboarding in the mountains and then hit the beach all in the same day. The list of things to do is endless so I wouldn’t want to limit our days of incredible weather with an itinerary. In my opinion, the best way to live it up in Los Angeles is to just live in the moment because there’s something for everyone at anytime.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A few people are the keys to where I am today. God is the first and foremost shoutout I’d like to acknowledge. He’s blessed me with the tools, resources, and support system to push me where I need to go.

Secondly, my family who have supported me and contributed to my progression.

Thirdly, my Traklife team who have been with me since the beginning. Proud of how far we’ve come and excited for the pathway ahead.

Lastly, my wife, Rozette Cordero, who supports me and whose strength and patience are the backbone of our family of 5. Without her holding down a strong household, it’d be difficult for me to have the capacity I need to operate in my professional life.
