We had the good fortune of connecting with Eunbee Jung and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eunbee, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first began my journey as a tattoo artist I spent most of my time working, but I always had people tell me that I needed to find hobbies and figure out a balance between work and my own personal life. So I decided to take some time for myself and experiment with different activities and things that I might enjoy apart from tattooing. However, I quickly realized that none of the hobbies I tried peaked my interest as much as my actual profession. It taught me that if you love what you do there’s no need to stray from that path. Now I spend all of my time either tattooing or doing something related to the craft, and that allows me to feel most fulfilled with life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a tattoo artists that specializes in renaissance contemporary art. I would say what sets me apart from others is my diligence and commitment to my work. These two behaviors are crucial to achieving greatness in any field. No journey is easy if you wish to be great at whatever you’re doing, but with these two fundamental skills achieving the desired goal will always be attainable. This is something that I quickly learned when I first began my career as a tattoo artist, and it’s always helped me overcome any challenge put in my way. As for what I’m most excited about in my future I would say continuing to cultivate my brand and really establishing myself in this industry. Being an artist is one thing but the other half of the process is being able to market yourself in the way you wish to be perceived. If there’s anything I would want people to understand about myself and my story is how crucial putting in the work is. Again it’s never easy but if it weren’t for the diligence I put into my career I wouldn’t be where I am today.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

One of my favorite spots in the city is Runyon Canyon. It’s a good hike and a great place to see the city of LA. I also like to spend time at local parks where I can sit and read a book or draw while being surrounded by good people and nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to use this opportunity to shout out my good friend Dino, also known as @dino_oriental on instagram. Before I moved to the states I had a hard time accepting new people into my personal life and was a fairly closed off person. When I arrived in LA and met the new people at my current studio, Dino was someone who’s energy immediately lit up the room and made everyone feel welcomed. He helped me understand that living life through love and acceptance will always lead to a better outcome and better mental state. Not only is he an amazing artist but a great friend.
