Hi Evalyn, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that the path to achieving your goals is often paved with risks. However when you pursue your passion with absolute determination, the thrill of the journey out weighs the feeling of the gamble. Even though Ive had setbacks from taking risks, they have all been a valuable lesson. This is how I try and approach life – moving forward in the pursuit of my dreams, regardless of the risks and staying focused on my goals while enjoying the journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel that the beauty industry is one of the most rewarding spaces to work in. It’s about understanding our clients individuality and lifestyle, and using that insight to craft a custom style and color that truly suits them. What I find most fulfilling about the hair industry is not just the physical transformation, but the opportunity to help my clients embrace their best selves and feel truly confident in their appearance.

My professional journey spans nearly 20 years, during which I honed my craft and absorbed invaluable business knowledge from various salons I worked at. I observed different operational approaches, all the while envisioning how I would run my own salon. One of my greatest challenges was staying focused and seizing the opportunity when it presented itself. In 2021, amidst widespread closures, I took the leap to open my first salon. Despite the uncertain times, I recognized the returning desire within the community to socialize and indulge in self-care, and I was driven to offer something exceptional for both clients and stylists reentering the salon environment.

The essence of my brand is all about creating a joyful space where people feel uplifted and valued, spreading good vibes of both our team and our clients. My goal is to make a positive impact, not only through fabulous hair but also by cultivating a sense of community where everyone feels welcome, empowered and ready to rock their best look!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to showing friend around LA, the options are endless! While the classic tourist spots are great, I’d opt for a more local experience. Skip the Santa Monica crowds and head straight to the pristine beaches of charming views of Manhattan Beach. For the best Mexican cuisine, Esperanza offers an upscale atmosphere and tasty margaritas. A shopping spree at the trendy Abbott Kinney blvd on the west side is a must, with unique boutiques and styles. Refuel with brunch at Gjelinas and order the French toast with berries. If you’re into museums, the Getty is a must-see, offering incredible views and a full day of art and culture. And of course, a day trip to the iconic Malibu is a must, with beach fun, shopping at the Malibu Country Mart, and a fabulous dinner at Nobu to top off the week!

Absolutely! The incredible team of women I work with deserves a tremendous amount of credit. Their unwavering dedication and professionalism are a major contribution to the success of my business.
