We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenya Romanova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenya, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance has evolved for me over time, especially as I transitioned from being deeply involved in every detail of my businesses to creating systems that allow me more freedom. In the early stages, I worked relentlessly, often sacrificing personal time to build something meaningful. But over time, I realized that true success isn’t just about financial achievements—it’s about designing a life where work supports your personal growth and happiness, not the other way around.

Now, I approach balance with a mindset of optimization, not sacrifice. UpDaily embodies this philosophy: your avatar works while you relax in St. Barts—because I believe in building businesses that give you freedom, not take it away. The key is to delegate, automate, and focus on what truly moves the needle.

Balance isn’t about rigid schedules; it’s about flow—knowing when to go all in and when to step back. I’ve learned that rest and inspiration fuel my best ideas, so I prioritize experiences, creativity, and well-being just as much as business growth. The goal isn’t to separate work and life, but to integrate them in a way that makes both feel fulfilling.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the founder of UpDaily, I’ve always believed that education should be both accessible and transformative. UpDaily is not just another educational platform—it’s a space where experts, entrepreneurs, and creatives can share their knowledge effortlessly while their interactive avatars work for them. Our core philosophy is simple: “Your avatar works while you relax in St. Barts.”

What sets us apart?

Unlike traditional online courses that require constant effort from creators, UpDaily allows educators to build automated, AI-enhanced learning experiences. This means they can scale their impact without being tied to live sessions, creating a more sustainable and profitable approach to digital education.

At the same time, we believe in “pay as you go” learning—giving users the flexibility to pay only for what they truly need, making high-quality education more accessible than ever.

The Journey & Challenges

Getting here wasn’t easy. I had to navigate the complexities of tech development, funding, and balancing innovation with user needs. But the biggest lesson? If you want to change the game, you can’t play by old rules. We didn’t just want to create another platform—we wanted to redefine how knowledge is shared and monetized.

One of the most exciting milestones was reaching over $100M in revenue, proving that there is a real demand for this new approach to education. But beyond numbers, what excites me most is seeing how UpDaily empowers people to teach, learn, and grow—without being trapped in outdated models of online education.

What I Want the World to Know

UpDaily is about freedom, innovation, and creating a new era of education. It’s about making knowledge work for you, instead of the other way around. If you’re a creator, entrepreneur, or someone who wants to share their expertise while living life on their own terms—this platform is for you.

I truly believe education is the most powerful tool for change, and UpDaily is here to make that tool more efficient, impactful, and future-proof.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the best of LA—its energy, hidden gems, and, of course, its incredible food and fashion scene. Here’s how I’d plan it:

Day 1: Classic LA Welcome

Afternoon – A scenic drive along Mulholland Drive for the views, then a stop at the Getty Center for art and an iconic cityscape.
Evening – Sunset cocktails at Nobu Malibu, watching the waves roll in, followed by a casual beach walk.

Day 2: Fashion & Hidden Gems

Morning – Breakfast at République—arguably the best pastries in town.
Afternoon – Shopping on Melrose Place (The Row, Isabel Marant, Chanel’s private boutique). Stop by Maxfield for avant-garde fashion.
Evening – Dinner at Delilah for a speakeasy-style, Old Hollywood vibe, then late-night drinks at Sunset Tower Bar.

Day 3: Coastal Escape

Morning – Road trip to Santa Barbara with a coffee stop at Blue Bottle in Montecito.
Afternoon – Wine tasting at San Ysidro Ranch, followed by lunch at Lucky’s Steakhouse.
Evening – Drive back to LA, stopping in Malibu Farm for a sunset dinner.

Day 4: The Ultimate LA Experience

Morning – Hike to the Hollywood Sign or a nature walk in Runyon Canyon.
Afternoon – Lunch at Gjusta in Venice, then explore Abbot Kinney Blvd.
Evening – Private dinner at Giorgio Baldi, the go-to spot for celebs and the best pasta in LA.

Day 5: Art & Culture

Morning – Breakfast at Great White, then visit LACMA or The Broad Museum.
Afternoon – Explore ROW DTLA for indie boutiques and design inspiration.
Evening – Drinks at Apothéke LA, then a live jazz show at The Dresden.

Day 6: Wellness & Luxury

Morning – Spa day at The Beverly Hills Hotel or Surya Spa in Santa Monica.
Afternoon – Lunch at Erewhon for the full LA wellness experience.
Evening – Sushi dinner at Matsuhisa or Morihiro (for true sushi lovers).

Day 7: Beach & Farewell

Morning – Yoga on the beach in Malibu, then brunch at Little Beach House Malibu.
Afternoon – A slow day enjoying the sun at Paradise Cove or a private yacht day.
Evening – Final dinner at Cipriani Beverly Hills, a toast to an unforgettable week.

LA is all about energy, connections, and hidden gems, and I’d make sure my best friend experiences it all—the glam, the creativity, and the magic of the city. 💫✨

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My journey has been shaped by many incredible people, experiences, and lessons along the way. First and foremost, I’d dedicate my shoutout to my parents, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, resilience, and an unshakable belief that anything is possible with the right mindset.

I also have to credit the countless mentors, books, and experiences that have influenced my thinking. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki was a turning point for me—it completely shifted my perspective on money, investments, and long-term financial freedom. That book opened the door to a whole new way of thinking, and I read it eight times before making my first investment.

Beyond that, my success wouldn’t be possible without the incredible communities I’ve been a part of—whether it’s the inspiring women I connected with through mind school the creatives and entrepreneurs I’ve met around the world, or the people who have shared their knowledge and experiences in ways that truly made an impact.

At the end of the day, I believe success isn’t just about what you achieve—it’s about who you become along the way and how you share that growth with others.
