Meet Fabrizio BriKan | Singer songwriter & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fabrizio BriKan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fabrizio, what role has risk played in your life or career?
There’s not a single great story of success that didn’t come with a risk, and I’m absolutely sure that there’s a lot more things to learn from risks than monotony, even if it’s a mistake. I consider that I’ve taken 2 big risks in my life, the first one was moving from Guanajuato, MX (where I’m originally from) to Los Angeles. It was a very tedious process that made reconsider my decision many times, but having been here for 2 years already I can say that there’s nothing in the world that if change for the things I’ve learned being here, and the experiences that I’ve had, the experiences that I’ve had and the people that I’ve met, specially those who had impacted me so much that gave me the “superpower” of having stories to tell in my songs, which leads me to the second big risk, and that was putting out there my music. I’ve never been jealous with my voice, I love singing for people and bringing joy with it, but it was not until a couple months ago that I decided to take my music career professionally. I contacted an important studio that heard my music, liked it and decided to help me produce my music, and because of that risk that I took this last October 2nd my fist professional single “Miradas Agrias” came out. Now this is just the beginning, there’s a lot more music on the way, but it was that attitude of “I wanna take risks and see where it leads me” that make it a reality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always felt like I had a different perception of the world, it’s like if things feel stronger and because of that experiencing love doesn’t feel “nice”, it feels like going to space, or experiencing loss doesn’t feel “sad”, it feels like breathing is more complicated than I remember. This made realize that I’m probably not the only one experiencing this things, it’s just that I live it with more intensity, so I decided to write songs about it, in that way people won’t feel alone and also I’m gonna be able to let go of things that were trapped in me… And it worked, everyone that I’d show my songs to would feel the empathy and they’d relate to what my music said, and honestly nothing feels better in the world like singing one of my songs to someone and seeing in their eyes that “I know exactly what you’re talking about” look.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve found a couple views that are simply breathtaking, so I’d put those on the itinerary definetly. We would proabbly eat at a Korean BBQ restaurant, cause I have a couple places that are really good like Han Korean BBQ House in Burbank. Probably after that if take them for Boba and my favorite place of Boba, named FavoriTea also in Burbank, maybe I’d also put on the list going to the beach to Marina del Rey (it’s my favorite beach), and last but no least I’d take them to Ave 26 Tacos just to show them that there’s also very good taco places in LA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everything that I am I owe it to my family, my friends, and every single person that has touched my life and left me something of them, cause I also leave a little bit of me with them, but the special credits go to my parents without a doubt, they’re my support, my fans, my teachers, and over all my most unconditional friends.
