Meet Federico Laboureau | Creative Director. Designer.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Federico Laboureau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Federico, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was always trying to thing what should be different.. not trying to see what the other were doing.. trying to make or create something different. of course I reach all the other people or companies related to my world to take my direction in a different direction and have my own niche

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I Studied Fashion design in Argentina. Then I realized that working designing clothes it wasn’t my thing, so I decide to be more involve into styling for photoshoots, catalogues, runways.. and I found a way to be more creative. Argentina back 18 years ago was more about to copy paste from internationals brands and I was with the hanger to create. Then I started realizing that working and creating the set, windows, etc opened a new world for me because my concepts can reach more deep.
So I started focusing being a Production Designer working in art department. And the catalogue of clients was expanded. Tv Show, Commercial, Theater.
After a 20 years working in the creative universe livining in Argentina then moved to Mexico City and now living in Los Angeles I can say that I considered a creative director. I love to create concept that cross all the elements of a brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start taking them the downtown. I Love modern art and there are couple of museum with a good collection. THE BROAD, MOCA.. and also downtown per se has an incredible architecture.. like the Disney City Hall. Also downtown become a very hot spot with all the news culinary experiences it has to offer.
During the weekend I highly recommend to go to any farmer market where you can meet the sense of LA for the healthy food. And also if you wanna meet the sense of the culture here going to a flea market could be a good experience.
LA is a City where you can find everything.. excess and places to go and find yourself. I prefer the second option.. Nothing more incredible for me to go and see the sunset at the beach. Conecting with the sound of the ocean.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
could sound cheesy or selfish..but with the past of the years I realized that believing in myself and praying to my brain is the KEY. Of course I have many people who push me up or down.. but all were mentors who helped me to take where I am now.
if I have to say where I am now… walking into the aisle of self love. To work with passion and trying to be happy with each project and spread good energy.
