We had the good fortune of connecting with Fenix Kaplan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fenix, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue my photography business back in early 2022 when the pandemic had me locked in my room and locked away from my newfound passion. With automotive photography as my artistic outlet, being able to finally go to car meets and photograph the various cars and builds was a truly a breath of fresh air away from the masked world at the time. Despite these challenges I decided to dive into the photography scene with a new camera setup and figure it out as I went. With practice over the course of a few months, I was finally able to see some progress and was truly enjoying myself along the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other photographers is not only my sense of automotive knowledge but also the shots I take, and after effects I use on the photos in adobe Lightroom. In terms of my journey I am most proud of myself for seeing it through all the way. What I mean by that is everyone starts somewhere, and I started from the bottom of the ladder and climbed my way up to where I stand now, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is to stick with what you love, but also to experiment in your own field and get out of your comfort zone. Overall, my one message to the world is to pursue what you truly want to do in life, you only live once and the last thing you want to do is regret doing what you love most.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m based in Los Angeles California, more specifically in Los Feliz, a prominent and up and coming neighborhood with many options for shopping, eating, and hanging out. Shopping wise I would recommend the sunset junction where you could shop, eat, and drink all in a miles walk. Another fun thing to do is exploring Griffith park with its various hikes, walks, viewpoints, and even a cafe. Griffith park is also notorious for its observatory, which can be accessed by car, or an amazing hike to its peak.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my dad for always supporting my passion throughout these past years and never holding me back from what I truly love to do. My dad always tags along to these car meets with me and is constantly listening to me spit out facts about cars or any shots I take. Similarly, my peers have always been supportive on my journey in terms of social media help, and other photography tips along the way. In addition to this, one of my teachers helped push to me where I am now and to really take that extra step in doing what I love. In addition to this, they also pushed me and helped me pursue my website whilst also pushing my name out to others.
