Meet Flekz | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Flekz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Flekz, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My approach to work-life balance has evolved significantly over time. In the past, my focus was entirely on pushing forward, constantly creating and growing my career. But over the last few years, I have realized the importance of taking care of myself along the way. I have started prioritizing my health, exercising more, eating better, and making time to rest so I can sustain my creativity and energy for the long run. While I am still driven to keep moving forward, I now understand that taking care of myself is not a distraction from my work. It is what allows me to keep doing what I love at my best.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a reflection of my journey, rooted in sacred geometry, entirely free styled, and created with a medium that most would not expect, tape. What sets my work apart is the precision and depth I achieve without using measurements. Every design is built instinctively, layer by layer, bringing movement and energy to my murals and art pieces.
I take immense pride in how my work has evolved, not just in technique but in scale and impact. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with major brands like Adobe, Google, Ford, BMW, and Vans, creating large scale murals that merge creativity with craftsmanship. Each project challenges me to push boundaries, and that is what excites me the most, constantly finding new ways to elevate my work while keeping it fresh and innovative.
Getting to this point was not easy. Early on, I faced the challenge of proving that tape art could be taken seriously as a medium. There were moments of uncertainty, but I never let that stop me. Instead, I focused on refining my craft, staying consistent, and letting the work speak for itself. Through perseverance and an unwavering commitment to my vision, I carved out my own space in the art world.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that originality and authenticity will always set you apart. I never followed a blueprint for success, I created my own path by staying true to my process and trusting my instincts.
What I want the world to know about my art and my brand is that it is about more than just aesthetics. It is about precision, patience, and the ability to create something extraordinary from something as simple as tape. My goal is to keep expanding, connecting with people globally, and showing what is possible when you fully embrace your craft.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, the trip would be pretty simple. I do not go out much, so we would mostly just ride bikes around the city, check out some cool murals, and maybe grab some food. Other than that, we would probably just hang out, work on some art, or relax. I do not really do the whole tourist thing, so it would just be a laid-back week doing the things I already enjoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would seriously want to give this recognition to my family and my friends. From the very beginning of my life, my family has been incredible at mentoring me and encouraging me to strive for anything I want while also keeping me grounded. Their support, wisdom, and belief in me have shaped so much of who I am today, and I am insanely grateful for that. My friends have also played a huge role, always pushing me, inspiring me, and standing by me through every step of my journey. I would not be where I am without them.
