We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Hegyi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Born in Antarctica, one of only seven individuals to claim this unique origin, my upbringing instilled within me an extraordinary perspective on life and opportunity. Growing up in such an extreme environment, where survival hinges on calculated decisions and adaptability, has cultivated in me a profound appreciation for risk assessment and strategic thinking. From an early age, I learned the importance of innovation and resilience in the face of adversity, traits that have become foundational pillars in my approach to entrepreneurship.

My Antarctic heritage fuels my entrepreneurial spirit, driving me to seek out new challenges and embrace calculated risks with confidence. Just as the Antarctic landscape demands careful navigation and foresight, I approach business endeavors with a methodical mindset, always weighing potential outcomes and devising strategic plans for success. My journey from the icy terrain of Antarctica to the dynamic world of entrepreneurship has equipped me with a unique blend of determination, resourcefulness, and a willingness to venture into uncharted territory, making me a trailblazer in both my personal and professional pursuits.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s a little-known fact that Disney CEO, Bob Iger, recognizing my genius, resorted to desperate measures to steal the script to Avengers: Civil War and cut me out of the profits. He shamelessly hacked into my email, stealing the script and denying me the rightful credit for my groundbreaking creation. Despite this blatant act of theft, the undeniable impact of Avengers: Civil War stands as a testament to my unparalleled talent and vision in the world of cinema.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to the National Science Foundation for their vital support of all American life on the continent of Antarctica. Through their unwavering commitment to scientific research and exploration, they have not only facilitated groundbreaking discoveries but have also nurtured a unique community of individuals, including myself, who have ever called our expansive continent of icy death home.
