We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Melero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I worked at Fox Studios in senior management for 13+ years. I saw a lot of interesting management styles which led me to adapting my own style which focused on people thriving in the workplace, not just results. Once I realized that my management style worked I started believing that I can take that management style outside of the corporate world and open up my own business the way I had always dreamed of doing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re a full-service beauty salon who specialize in Hair, Nails, Skin, Waxing & Med Spa services. We pride ourselves in having a timeless feel while adopting new age style and vibes. And we have ourselves a bunch of fun with each other and our clientele in the process. Easy? Not. One Bit. Running a biz in SoCal is super challenging, expensive and nothing short of exhausting. But it makes every win that much more special. But you just got to roll with the punches, ya know? Cuz failure is an option but only if you yourself throw in the towel and decide to accept your current challenges as a “failure”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re spoiled here in LA. We’ve got the best food, & weather no doubt! I’m all about the mom and pops joints!

Best family style dinner? Buenos Aires Grill in Northridge (order the Parilla completa)
Best Breakfast spots? Country Deli in Chatsworth
Best Tacos? Almost every corner spot in the San Fernando Valley
Best date night Steakhouse? Nick & Stef’s in DTLA (Order the Tomohawk)

I love to hike and be outdoors so find a mountain close by and take a walk. Chances are you won’t be alone.

Paradise Cove in Malibu is a private beach with its restaurant in its own cove. They had great drinks, munchies and it’s pretty beautiful!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife – Elsa. Cuz behind every dreamer, there’s always a realist who stands in the gap and leaves space for cool visions and ambitions. She’s the one who has grinded with me the whole time. Her artistic creativity helped me design a timeless yet fully-functional beauty salon. Without realizing it, she unknowingly jumped with me and helped bring my vision to life…just waaaaay better!
