We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Tirimacco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Frank, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
What started it all for me was finding a good bunch of people that you can trust and work just as hard as you. I found a group of people that not only could see my vision as much as I could see theirs, but they loved making things as much as I did. To me, I want people to see that anything is possible with little to no equipment. You must have the grit and drive to make things because sadly, the industry won’t come to you and offer it. If you want to be seen, heard and create an impact, it all starts with you and who you surround yourself with.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my drive. I think that because I’m here on a visa, I have this timer in the back of my brain that tells me to make the most of the time that I have here. That’s also what helps me create projects and constantly wanting to put stuff out there. Another thing being that art is such an expressive way of telling a story. You can do it in any form and I want to show that in my work. What got me to where I am today is determination, perseverance and grit, all things that I have gained over the years from failing and getting back up again. I’ve had my lows and I’ve had my highs, and knowing that the lows will end is what pushes me through, along with the constant support from friends and family. The main challenges I’ve overcome here in the United States are knowing what I can and can’t do with my visa. It’s hard enough with the government not letting you work a normal job to support yourself financially, so you gotta get creative with the jobs you apply for.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think Los Angeles has a lot to offer in terms of having fun but you really have to look for it. I know one of the highlights I’ve had here is driving down to Silverado Orange County and seeing the amazing views there. Wanna grab good food at a good price? I would recommend a place called “Daisys” down in North Hills or go down to the Markets in Down Town LA. The Market food is some great tasting and quick food. There’s a lot of hiking spots here in LA and some of the most amazing views. I would definitely recommend taking a walk in Griffith Park or even go to Lake Balboa for a nice afternoon. You not only get to experiance and great park day but get to see the thriving wildlife that’s there. Do your research and find some of the many things that intrest you the most in LA, there’s something for everyone!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that deserve a shout out are John Jack TenBarge, Jaden Harris Shaw and Maddy Zambello.
