We had the good fortune of connecting with Franklin Wall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Franklin Wall, what do you want your legacy to be?
We want Franklin Wall to be more than just a Country music duo. Our goal is that people get something important out of our songs for their life. We want to reach people where they are and help them overcome obstacles, make strong decisions for themselves, or even just feel a little bit better after they hear a tune they like. We adore our fans and love to hear their stories after shows, or online – it always reminds us of why we do what we do, and keeps us moving forward!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our journey began at Disneyland’s Mad T Party, where we first performed together. I (Dan) was the guitar playing Dormouse and occasionally the Mad Hatter, and Stephanie was the rock star Alice. What started as roles in a nighttime rock and roll show blossomed into a decade-long friendship filled with diverse creative collaborations, spanning from feature films to web shows to cover bands performing worldwide.

When the pandemic struck, we decided to channel our talents into something uniquely ours, returning to our roots in country music. Stephanie’s lifelong passion for country, nurtured by her mentor Kelly Rae and her band, combined seamlessly with Dan’s experiences alongside country acts such as LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Coffey, and Sasha Pieterse, including performances at the Grand Ole Opry. It felt like coming home.

In just a few short months, we released our debut EP and found ourselves opening for country legend Ty Herndon. Since then, the journey has been a whirlwind of unforgettable experiences. With countless gigs behind us at every club and festival we can think of, the adventures have been endless. We’ve played with Ben Gallaher, Presley Tennant, Carter Winter, and countless more. Along the way, we’ve forged meaningful connections with fellow artists, fans, and influencers, including our friends at Nashville on the Coast, Tim Hurley at Go Country 105 and Pepper at KFrog.

We just finished up drums on seven new tunes in the studio we can’t wait to share with our fans, and our summer schedule is absolutely slammed with festivals and a residency at Knott’s Berry Farm. Things are going great!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Absolutely! Los Angeles offers so much diversity and excitement. One of our favorite weekday rituals is hitting up the Huntington Beach street fair on Tuesday nights. There’s nothing quite like enjoying the lively atmosphere while indulging in delicious eats from the various food stalls. And our favorite part? Dining at Sandbar and catching glimpses of adorable dogs strolling by – it’s the perfect combination of good food and a charming ambiance.

When it comes to nightlife, we can’t resist the allure of Desert 5 Spot, a fantastic country bar nestled right in the heart of Hollywood. The energy there is electrifying, and nothing beats kicking back with some great tunes and good friends.

And speaking of entertainment, catching a show at iconic venues like the Pantages, Ahmanson, or Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is always a highlight for us. The talent on display never fails to inspire, and it’s a wonderful way to immerse ourselves in the rich cultural tapestry of LA. So yeah, those are just a few of the spots we love to hit up when we’re in this incredible city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We have so many wonderful people that have helped us and inspired us along the way. We wouldn’t be anywhere without the love and support of our close friends like Laura, Dave and Riley Smith, Heather Dingess, Doug Freese and Amber Connelly – They all give so freely, and believe so fiercely in us. Kelly Rae of the Kelly Rae band was a huge help to young Stephanie growing up, and continues to be a vital source of support with her vast well of resources in the Orange County Country music scene and wisdom. We want to dedicate this shoutout to all the amazing fans that have gotten us this far – there are far too many to name, but please know how much we love you.
