Meet gara | Director/Photographer/Creative/ Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with gara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi gara, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
In my journey trying to find the motives behind my art, I quickly realized, all I wanted was to make myself feel something through the art I was and am creating; all of this in hopes to make people feel something as well.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always found it extremely difficult to talk about my art. If I had to describe anything I’ve ever done, I would use the word honest.
The ride has been easy, and it continues to get difficult when we think the toughest part is behind us, but that makes the journey beautiful. I feel like going through those ups and downs and difficult moments when everything is at stake pushes you to build character and become a stronger person and artist once you make it to the other side.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my all-time favorite spots in LA is Lake Hollywood Park. There’s something special about that place; it’s almost as if time stood still for a second.
Perfect plan? Grab a coffee at The Commissary, go for a takeout breakfast burrito at Great White, pick up a book, and indulge lying in the grass at Lake Hollywood Park.
The perfect afternoon.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel like if someone deserves a shoutout is the people who have supported me along the way, and continue to do so. Anyone who has felt connected to my art, the people who have challenged me and encouraged me to test my limits, and of course, Los Mesoneros, my lifelong personal project, my band, and my artistic endeavor that has allowed me to push the limits of what I’m able to communicate.
