Hi Garry, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
My legacy is about empowering my community and inspiring the next generation to believe in themselves and their vision. I want to be remembered as someone who led with purpose and conviction, showing others that no dream is too big if you dare to pursue it. I believe in the power of self-belief and vision, and I want to leave a message that anyone, no matter where they start, can achieve greatness if they stay true to their path and trust in their potential.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey as a barber has been nothing short of a battle, but it’s one I’ve fought with my heart and hustle from the start, Growing up in the inner city, I’ve seen the struggles and obstacles that can easily hold you back, but I refused to let them define me. What sets me apart is my dedication to craft and my commitment to not just cutting hair, but changing lives one person at a time. I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to build something real, something that’s not just about fades and trims, but about giving back, about showing others that no matter where you come from, you can rise above and achieve greatness. It wasn’t easy: every day was a grind, and every setback was a lesson. I faced doubt, financial struggle, and plenty
of closed doors, but I kept pushing forward because quitting was never an option. I want the world to know that as a professional barber, I’m not just creating styles; I’m building a legacy, a brand that’s rooted in perseverance, passion, and a refusal to be anything less than the best. My story is one of resilience, and I’m here to inspire others to chase their dreams no matter what.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Three spots of my choice would be for some great food for morning chill at The Serving Spoon, for afternoon delight drinks at the High and Dry, and to end it off at Dulan’s for some great soul food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s truly a long list of people I would like to recognize, but I’d rather say thank you to all who crossed my path and gave me the special voice of reason to push forward on my journey and make a big impact in my career.
