Meet Gary Brown | Chief Executive Officer and Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gary Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gary, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At the end of 2021, the company I worked for had sold, the company that purchased it did not have my position and had no role for me. I was without a job for the first time in almost 30 years with no real leads. I interviewed a lot, looked at many roles. One day I was talking to the now former owner of Talent Dynamics and asked if she was looking to sell. She said it depends on the day, after that I went to work. I reached out to my friend and former boss who was also not retained in the sale of our former company and we formed Glass City Talent, LLC, which is the holding company for Talent Dynamics. We believed then and now that with the “Great Resignation” happening our placement services are needed now more than ever in the broadcast news industry.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Talent Dynamics has been in the broadcast news industry for over 25 years. We have been providing placement and coaching services to clients at the local and national level. We have placed thousands in on-air and off-air roles over the years, many times those people may not even know we were involved. What sets us apart is the experience of our team, all with significant experience and almost everyone has television news experience. We have the most extensive video library and database in the industry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Southern California, I would spend a day at Big Bear, the beach, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, pretty much hit all the tourist spots. As far as hanging out, dinners at Katana, Republique, Nobu, Il Pastaio, Perch downtown, drinks at Sky Bar or one of the many rooftop bars as well

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All my former bosses, whether we agreed on everything or not, I always took something away from my former bosses.
