We had the good fortune of connecting with Gayathri SR and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gayathri, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started sculpting at the age of five and made tiny sculptures with so much detail that it surprised everyone around me. I didn’t return to it until I was 25, when I made a small sculpture as a farewell gift for a friend. That one simple gesture reignited my passion for sculpting.
As I began creating more pieces, people showed genuine interest and often shared how unique and meaningful my work felt — especially my “mom-to-be” sculptures, which resonated deeply with many. Seeing how my art could bring joy and emotion into people’s lives made me realize it was more than just a hobby. That’s when I decided to turn my passion into G3 Sculpture — to share handmade art that celebrates connection, emotion, and life’s special moments.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Art has been a part of me since childhood. My art is deeply personal. Every piece I create tells a story — of love, memory, or celebration. What sets my work apart is the emotional depth and craftsmanship behind it. I blend multiple sculpting techniques to bring out lifelike details and textures, often pushing the limits of what’s possible with soap. One of my proudest pieces, the “Peacock,” took three months to perfect just to make the feathers appear transparent — a feature only achievable through countless experiments. Another piece, my “Mom-to-be” sculpture, features a baby visible inside the womb — a concept that has deeply moved many people.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Balancing creativity, self-doubt, and the realities of running a small business tested me constantly. There were moments I questioned if handmade art still had a place in this fast-paced world. But every message from a customer — whether it was tears over a pet sculpture that revived cherished memories or joy from seeing themselves captured in art — reminded me why I started. Those heartfelt connections became my strength.
I’ve learned that success isn’t defined by sales or numbers, but by impact. True fulfillment comes when my art touches someone’s heart. I’ve also learned that growth takes time — patience, resilience, and trust in your own rhythm are everything.
What I want the world to know is that art heals. My sculptures are not just decorative — they carry emotion, memory, and meaning. G3 Sculpture stands for handmade art that celebrates life’s beautiful, fleeting moments. Each piece is heartmade, created with intention, care, and love.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I could plan the perfect day with my friend, we’d start early with a Griffith Park sunrise and a morning coffee, taking in those quiet golden moments before the city wakes up. Then we’d hit Mulholland Drive, windows down, music on, soaking in those winding views of LA.
On the way, we’d stop by the beautiful Hindu Temple in Malibu for a peaceful visit, and then take the Malibu mountain route for a stunning scenic drive. We’d pull over to admire the beach views and make our way to Venice for a relaxed lunch by the ocean.
After lunch, we’d wander around the Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach piers, sipping on boba or smoothies, laughing, and people-watching. As the day winds down, we’d catch the sunset at the lighthouse in Palos Verdes — the perfect golden ending. Then we’d head to a cozy Thai spot near Torrance Beach for dinner and finish the night with handmade ice cream before heading home — tired, happy, and full of memories.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Grateful to my 25-year-old self for trusting where her heart was leading.
I also would like to thank all my customers for supporting me.
