We had the good fortune of connecting with Geng Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Geng, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before starting my own business, I had already worked on several projects. I started to get calls from people to write music and do sound design for their projects, so why not start my own business?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Multimedia Composer, Audio Director, and Sound Designer with six years of experience in creating music and sound in games and media. My own studio has a 7.1.4 Dolby atmos layout through PMC monitors. I spent a lot of effort and money to build this studio. I am also part of the Wwise Ambassador program. I am known for my work on The Dark World: Karma, PUBGM x Messi Collaboration, C3S9 Season CG, C4S10 Season CG, PUBGM x Bruce Lee Collaboration, Arena Breakout: Delvin’s theme, Season 2 Cinematic, music for the TV Station Map, A.D. 2047, and GhostBlade.
What sets me apart from others is I can provide a full audio solution to clients. I do all the creative work, but I also manage to do the technical side.
Most of the difficulties that I have come from the business and administrative side. People value music and sound differently; sometimes, people do not respect what I do, but I have to deal with it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Westfield Century City. It has good restaurants, nice bars, and good shopping malls, but most importantly it has a Dolby Cinema, and that’s where I go to watch movies.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really appreciate all of my clients who trust me to put music and sound on their projects, especially with Pollard Studio LLC. I started working with them in 2018. It has been a great journey.
