Meet Geo Louis | Bartelier: Founder & Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Geo Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Geo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had been working in the event space for a number of years and also had a background in bar and beverage, so I saw firsthand how transformative a well-designed bar experience could be. I noticed a gap in the market for truly high-quality, bespoke bar services that felt personal and elevated—something that didn’t just complement an event but became a centerpiece of it. That’s when I realized there was an opportunity to combine my expertise in events and mixology to create something truly special.
With Bartelier, I wanted to offer not just drinks but a full-service experience that feels luxurious, personal, and innovative. From the choice of ingredients to the design of the bar itself, every detail is curated to leave a lasting impression.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me, Bartelier is a form of art—it’s where craftsmanship meets creativity, and it’s about transforming cocktails into an experience that lingers long after the last sip. What sets Bartelier apart is our dedication to hospitality. For us, it’s more than just a service; it’s a mindset, a way of making every guest feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Every detail we craft, from the flavor profiles of our drinks to the design of our bars and the spaces that surround them, is infused with that ethos of genuine hospitality.
One of the things that drives Bartelier is our belief that cocktails aren’t just about serving alcohol—they’re about bringing people together. A well-made drink is a catalyst for connection, a way to spark conversations, create memories, and foster meaningful relationships. Whether it’s an intimate wedding or a vibrant brand activation, every event we’re part of is designed to cultivate those moments of connection.
Our commitment to that philosophy is reflected in the care we put into our craft. We infuse many of our own spirits, mixers, and syrups, layering creativity and authenticity into each drink. This hands-on approach allows us to deliver flavors that are as unique as the guests we serve.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. Starting a business comes with its challenges, from perfecting our processes to building a brand that resonates. Surrounding myself with people who share my passion for hospitality—mentors, collaborators, and everyone I get to work with day to day—has been key to overcoming obstacles.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about Bartelier, it’s that this isn’t just a business; it’s a passion project rooted in connection, creativity, and craftsmanship. Bartelier exists to elevate the bar experience, proving that a cocktail can be so much more than a drink—it can be an art form, a conversation starter, and a way to bring people together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For breakfast, I frequent Salts Cure for their famous Griddle Cakes—simple, delicious, and the epitome of a relaxed LA morning. Coffee from Blue Bottle is always a must, and République offers unmatched pastries for a delightful start to the day. For brunch, The Ivy is a quintessential LA spot with vibrant decor and excellent people-watching, while Great White is another favorite for its laid-back, beachy vibe. When it comes to cocktails, Thunderbolt and Mírate boast standout cocktail programs, while drinks on the patio at The Henry on Robertson offer great service and a welcoming atmosphere to unwind. For dinner, Pizzeria Mozza is perfection, offering an unbeatable menu, and Sal’s charms with its incredible Italian dishes and lovely staff. The Nice Guy is perfect for cocktails, dinner, live music, and an exclusive, retro vibe, while Jon & Vinny’s delivers comforting Italian-inspired dishes and drinks. Horses stands out with its great drinks, food, and upbeat atmosphere. For a meal with a view, Mother Tongue offers great food and a stunning rooftop overlooking the Hollywood Hills. And for a truly iconic experience, dinner and drinks at Chateau Marmont capture that old-school Hollywood magic like no other.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mark Seed, whom I’ve had the privilege of working alongside and continue to grow with, has an extraordinary ability to see potential where others might not. He has consistently pushed me to think bigger, embrace risks, and trust my instincts. From navigating the complexities of starting my own business to honing the vision and identity of the Bartelier brand, Mark’s insights have been nothing short of invaluable. His guidance extends beyond the creative side, offering a deep understanding of the nuances of the event industry and providing encouragement that has been instrumental in shaping Bartelier.
