Meet Geoffrey Skrajewski | Visual Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Geoffrey Skrajewski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Geoffrey, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When your passion aligns with your work, the boundaries between work and life start to blur.
There was never a task too daunting or irrelevant for me. I always believed that even if I didn’t know how to do something and it might consume a considerable amount of time, it was never a waste. Instead, I saw it as an opportunity for personal growth and learning, a valuable facet of life.
Even today, I continue to relish these learning experiences, but I also appreciate the moments of respite when I can disconnect from my computer and explore alternative sources of inspiration. I’ve come to realize that these “off” moments not only recharge my energy but also provide fresh perspectives for problem-solving.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Reaching my current position, collaborating with the world’s top visual effects companies, has been a journey that unfolded over time. When you first step out of school, you embark on an entirely new chapter of life, and it can be a daunting experience. I didn’t have a meticulously crafted plan, so I began showcasing my work to studios and agencies, pleasantly discovering that it was well-received. I initiated my journey with small-scale projects, limited budgets, and a modest team. Gradually, the projects and my aspirations evolved organically. Confidence in my abilities grew, and it further fueled my passion.
One invaluable lesson I’ve learned is that, much like life itself, being an artist is a process. It’s something you construct gradually by following your instincts, and the rest naturally falls into place.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I might have caught you by surprise here. While I could certainly list countless incredible restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and relaxing spots in Los Angeles, I’ll refrain from doing so – there are just too many to cover!
One of the remarkable aspects that sets L.A. apart for me, despite its size, is the ease with which you can immerse yourself in nature. The abundance of hiking trails, camping sites, and biking paths nestled amidst the Verdugo Mountains, Santa Monica Mountains, and Angeles National Forest is truly endless.
These locations serve as incredible opportunities to clear your mind, inhale the fresh air deeply, recharge your spirits, and return to the creative world revitalized.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Undoubtedly, my professional accomplishments would have remained out of reach without the invaluable contributions of my colleagues.
Over the course of the last 15 years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with a talented ensemble of professionals, including designers, motion designers, art directors, creative directors, producers, and directors. Their creativity and inspiration have been a constant wellspring for my work, shaping my daily endeavors.
I am a firm believer in the power of teamwork and would like to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them.
