We had the good fortune of connecting with George Doman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi George, is there something you believe many others might not?
The world sells this notion that life is an equal playing field, but ableism exists to destroy this notion the moment someone believes a person with a disability is a burden or less than others; I’m here to reconstruct the rules and landscape of this unleveled playing field.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, I’m a Warner Music Group Global DEI Institute Faculty Member where I calibrated on WMG’s first ever filmed panel regarding disability and the music industry entitled “Disability Empowered,” in which I was the lead moderator, conducted research and discovered three industry experts who shared trends, insights, and ideas that answered questions from the audience. Our panel lasted 45 minutes to one hour. I help aid disability ERG by raising awareness of workplace issues that affect people with disabilities. As a result, organizations can maximize their outreach to serve persons with disabilities internally and locally. I was recently a Pop A&R Assistant at Hipgnosis Song Management for a year. I organized, strategized, and added value to culturally meaningful song catalogs, emphasizing artist splits and publishing information on Disco and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Warner Music LA – I love you!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to the entire WARNER MUSIC GROUP GLOBAL DEI INSTITUTE, Warner Music Group, Warner Chappell Music, WMX, Hipgnosis Songs Fund Pop A&R Department, HARDER THAN YOU THINK, UNICEF, and The International Paralympic Committee. These organizations greatly influenced and aided me as a physically disabled man in my search for gainful employment in The Music Business outside of being a hip-hop artist with a physical disability because each organization gives me a fighting chance and truly stands behind inclusion. I do not want to mention exact names due to privacy. Still, anyone who ever helped me earn an opportunity to intern, I greatly appreciate it!
