We had the good fortune of connecting with George Yaghmour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi George, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
My happiness derived from my career and its positive impact on the community, emphasizing my core motivations and values. My happiness is deeply intertwined with my thought process behind starting my career. It stems from a profound desire to create a meaningful and lasting impact on the communities I care about. At the core of my motivation is the aspiration to bring light and positivity into the lives of others, to spread joy, and to foster education and advocacy for a better quality of life. I wanted to build something that would serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding people of the power they hold to create positive change in their own lives and their communities. This vision became the driving force behind every decision I made.
Education has always been a cornerstone of my values. I firmly believe that empowering individuals with knowledge and skills can transform lives. Additionally, advocacy for a better life became an integral part of our mission.
Why- Every success, no matter how small, reaffirmed my belief that we were on the right path. Seeing the positive impact on the communities we serve has been the most rewarding aspect of this journey.
In essence, my entrepreneurial journey has been guided by a commitment to spread joy, educate, and advocate for a better life. This holistic approach has not only shaped the identity of my business but also ensured that our efforts contribute to a brighter, more hopeful future for everyone we touch. Knowing that I am making a difference in the world and improving the lives of others is what truly makes me happy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am Dr. George Yaghmour, I go by “Healing Hero” a bone marrow transplant doctor, rare disease educator, and advocate. My career is centered on saving lives and giving hope to patients battling cancer and other severe illnesses. As a healer and mentor, I strive to be a beacon of hope, guiding patients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. What sets me apart is my multidisciplinary approach, combining medical expertise with a compassionate, human touch. I studied medicine in three languages—Arabic, French, and English—allowing me to connect with a diverse patient population. My career has been marked by a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for my patients, whether through direct care, education, or advocacy.
I am particularly proud of my work in the field of hematologic malignancies, specializing in stem cell and immune therapy. My focus on multiple myeloma has led to significant advancements in early-phase clinical trials, bringing innovative treatments to those in need. My role in tumor boards and multidisciplinary consultations has been instrumental in providing comprehensive, cutting-edge care.
The journey to where I am today has been anything but easy. It involved rigorous education, relentless research, and navigating the complexities of the medical field. Overcoming these challenges required resilience, a supportive network, and an unwavering belief in the impact of my work. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of compassion and empathy in medicine. Connecting with patients on a personal level and understanding their struggles is just as crucial as the clinical treatment we provide.
The journey to where I am today has been incredibly challenging. I left my home and country, crossing the seas to build a new life in a foreign land. I had to study medicine again in three languages—Arabic, French, and English—an arduous task that tested my resolve. But I have always believed that nothing is impossible. To me, “Impossible” is simply “I am possible.” It’s about recognizing the potential within us and believing in our power and ability to stand up stronger every time we fall.
I placed my faith in the process, understanding that dedication, consistency, and sacrifices are my vehicles to keep moving forward. The path has not been easy, but it has been rewarding. I often say, “Climbing slowly up the right mountain is far better than reaching the summit of the wrong one in haste.” This mantra has guided me, reminding me that true success is not about speed, but about direction and perseverance.
Through all the trials and tribulations, I have learned the value of resilience and the importance of believing in one’s dreams. Every challenge I faced was an opportunity to grow and reaffirm my commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of others. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the unwavering belief that we can achieve greatness if we stay true to our goals and values.
I also believe that music and art can be powerful therapeutic tools. Incorporating these elements into my practice has not only helped my patients cope with illness but also allowed me to find balance and healing in my own life. Encouraging patients to express themselves creatively has proven to be an invaluable aspect of their journey to recovery.
My work has been recognized by peers, earning numerous awards and honors, but the true measure of success for me is the positive impact on my patients’ lives. Despite the accolades, I remain humble and dedicated, always prioritizing the needs of those I serve. My medical expertise, combined with my artistic inclinations, has shaped me into a well-rounded physician committed to holistic care.
I want the world to know that my story is rooted in a genuine desire to make a difference. As a renowned leader in hematologic oncology, my contributions, especially in the use of innovative treatments like CAR-T cell therapy and bispecific antibodies, have set new benchmarks in the field. My leadership in clinical trials and collaborative care ensures that my patients receive the best possible outcomes.
In conclusion, my career is a testament to the power of dedication, empathy, and continuous learning. I am honored to be able to contribute to the medical community and improve the lives of my patients, and I will continue striving to make a positive impact on the world.
