We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Beam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Georgia, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite saying is the latin quote “Ex nihilo nihil fit” which loosely translates to “Out of nothing comes nothing” by Parmenides. Although it was first dictated in reference to the origins of the universe, I’ve found it’s also something necessary to live by. Truly nothing comes into fruition without something compelling it to be; as with the universe, so with aspirations in life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I love about acting is perspective. There’s nothing more that excites me than getting to drop into a new mindset, character or story and be a vessel of art. If I am somewhat responsible for a viewer to feel something, whether its new to them or important in that moment of the story, there is no greater feeling of accomplishment to me. It’s taken a lot of networking and all sorts of indie projects for me to be where I’m at today, which I couldn’t be happier doing. There’s a lot of working side jobs and auditioning full-time besides the commitment to the process, for being around for the right moment to strike; and oddly enough I couldn’t be happier with that. Going back to my favorite quote, “Out of nothing comes nothing” (Parmenides), reminds me that there is more beauty in the ride than where the destination is. To be on the journey is beautiful in of itself, and that’s what I’d like the takeaway to be from my story.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is a great city for visiting. I’ve amassed a lot of favorite restaurants and hangout spots over the years, and it’s always necessary to hit up Venice for a day of biking and exploring, or chill at Zuma in Malibu for a more relaxing day. Studio City and Westwood are two of my favorite parts of town to be in, as you can’t go 2 blocks without seeing something iconic to LA history. Now that things are opening back up more, I can’t wait to discover more ‘holes in the wall’.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family; as I wouldn’t be afforded the opportunity to pursue my dreams without their genuine love and support. Also to the friends I’ve made along the way, who have always been there for me to help with things such as auditions and advice on surviving this industry, which we get to do together.
