We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerardo Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gerardo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ever since I was little I’ve always wanted to own my own business. I saw business as a way to help other people and give people opportunities to make a good living. Anytime I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I would always think about it and have an actual answer which was be a police officer or work in SWAT or the FBI because of the movies that I would watch but then I would look at the end goal which was okay how do I want to live and the lifestyle I want I could get as a business owner sooner. Don’t get me wrong I love the law enforcement life but something about starting something from nothing and making it big would always interest me more because I love a challenge.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, PPF PROS, is a business where we can cater to your cars, business, boats and jets! Whether you want to protect the paint of your can or completely give it a whole new look we can get it done! I’ve worked on so many peoples cars and the joy they have when they see their vehicles look completely different is what makes me and my team happy! I got to where I’m at in business because I gave it my all, I did everything and anything I could to make sure my business worked for me! coming in early and leaving late, sometimes even staying overnight to make sure we meet deadlines on our projects! I’m not going to say it was easy because it wasn’t and it still isn’t! There is still challenges we face and go through now which is what I learned while being in business! 1 Bad day does not mean a bad week and when there’s a problem, there is always a solution that can be presented, even if sometimes there’s no winning, a customers satisfaction is always more important than a profit. One thing I would want the world to know about our story and brand is that we genuinely care about our customers and always work with their invested interest, but also that the business itself was built of pure hope and faith that I can have a business of my own and make it work just how other business owners are making it work and grow!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in the area id want to visit a pretty good restaurant in downtown LA called H&H steak house! We love to eat and most definitely love our stake! After that we would go to a cabin in big bear and hang out there where we can snowboard and during the day and make jokes and have laughs during the night! All my friends have business’s so I would mastermind with them and see how we can help one another take each other to the next level! I own a vinyl wrap and PPF business so i can help protect their exotic cars or help them promote their business on the side of their car!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I would want to shoutout in all honesty is my mom, when covid hit we were impacted and lost almost everything. But the one person who was determined and willing to do everything she can to bring us where are today was her. She actually had started her business during covid after she lost her job as a house keeper. The amount of times she tried and failed worried me because anything my mom did I didn’t want to see her disappointed. She was a food vendor and tried selling anything and everything until she finally did it and started selling tamales. She turned that into a business to where she goes out every morning at 5:00am to sell tamales and be done by 8 or 9:00am. But keep in mind she leaves at 5, so she gets up at 2 or 3:00am to prepare everything! Seeing her do that literally 7 days a week motivated me and pushed me that okay dude you need to do the same. She showed me as long as you want it that bad it will work for you and it made me feel that I don’t have an excuse why business wont work for me!
