Meet Germain Arroyo | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Germain Arroyo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Germain, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is staying true to myself. I’ve learned to accept and love everything about myself being a gay non binary Latino. Being gay was used against me, I was bullied a lot growing up I had a soft voice and I never stood up for myself. I always knew I was different I always had a love for clothing, jewelry, heels and of course makeup! But I was never allowed to really live in that fantasy unfortunately. So I learned to hide it all away protecting myself. But accepting myself fully just happened one day when I realized that me being VERY gay and non binary is actually my favorite thing about myself. And I learning to love how god made me and how they blessed me being a gay Latino! That has all been a huge factor behind any success that I have had fully!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
First of all if you have some free time or you want to be entertained. And you feel like smiling and crying all in one sitting. You must go to a select theater or stay home on your couch. But make sure on June 4th you’re watching Under The Stadium Lights starring many amazing and talented actors including myself! It’s based on a true story with a lot of courage and heart and Texans and of course football! It’s been a joy working on this movie and I can’t wait for everyone to see it for themselves. Shoutout to all my boys I love you guys and I’m proud of us! And to everyone that came through while shooting this movie wouldn’t look this good without you all! #brokeep

I’m an actor, and it took a while to say that out loud and proud. It’s been very challenging following this dream that some would call crazy! They are right! But I wouldn’t change a thing about my creative journey, I’ve learned so much about myself about my craft and how I love what I do. Rejection was a huge challenge and continue to be, I don’t think it ever gets easy not booking a job you worked hard on. Or getting very close to something and loosing it the next day. But that has all been a very important lesson not only on my career but also in life. Just because you’re good at something that doesn’t guarantee you any success, but just know that hard work always pays off.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is a great place to have friends or family visit. I’ve always loved Silverlake and the energy around there. All the fun restaurants and bars to stop by and visit. Cute shops to buy cute stuff. But if I had to pick one place that I love, it has to be V Wine Room in West Hollywood. It’s such a hidden jewel it’s a room filled with wine bottles from the floor up to the walls surrounded by wine! You can find anything you like there, they have cheese and meats and all that good pairings with wine. And the service is spectacular very sweet and kind! So get dressed up and get yourself some wine girl!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a hard one to answer because I’ve been very lucky to have so much support behind me. From my family to my friends, they are all encouraging and supportive of everything I do. Of course I have to say my mom because she has been a huge inspiration and motivation for any goal or dream I chase. The amount of hustle I have in me is because of my mom , she’s the hardest working woman I know and she made it all happen for me. What ever crazy dream I had she supported me. If I wanted to sing she would tell me to sing out loud, if I wanted to act she somehow paid for some classes. She made it happen and because of that I know I can too.
