We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Zamora and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gio, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My ultimate goal is to contribute socially and politically to improving the environments of both the United States and Mexico. My ambition is rooted in service rather than the pursuit of wealth or personal gain. My highest aspiration in life is to be a useful individual who makes a significant impact on millions of lives.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Mexican licensed attorney , currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy. In Mexico, I founded a toy company called Lil Mayo SAS de CV and developed a real estate measurement project known as Grupo Iconico. My journey took a significant turn when I had to leave my country due to conflicts with various corrupt police organizations.

I arrived in Los Angeles at the beginning of this year and started my new life by flipping burgers at Lucky Guys Burgers in Commerce, California. Despite the initial hardships, I quickly transitioned into a role as a paralegal at Shawn Beam Law Offices, an immigration law firm. Today, I continue to work there while also dedicating my free time to creating content for social media and studying aviation, one of my greatest passions in life.

What sets me apart is my resilience and ability to adapt to new and challenging environments. From founding a toy company to working in the legal field, my diverse experiences have shaped me into a multifaceted professional. I am proud of my journey and the obstacles I have overcome, which include navigating cultural and professional shifts while continuously pursuing my passion for law, public policy, and aviation.

The road has not been easy. Starting over in a new country was daunting, and the initial months were filled with uncertainty. However, I overcame these challenges through perseverance, hard work, and an unwavering belief in my abilities. I have learned invaluable lessons about the importance of adaptability, the power of resilience, and the significance of staying true to one’s goals despite external pressures.

I want the world to know that my story is one of continuous growth and unwavering determination. Whether through my legal work, my entrepreneurial ventures, my aviation studies, or my content creation, I strive to make a positive impact and contribute meaningfully to the communities I am part of. My journey is a testament to the idea that with dedication and resilience, one can overcome any obstacle and achieve their dreams.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my brother, my mother, and most importantly, my father. My father gave me the freedom to make my own decisions from a very young age, even when those decisions went against everything he believes in and holds dear. He respected the path I am still forging and supported me in every way he could, regardless of the direction I chose. With the wisdom and love he had, he was the bow that launched me as a living arrow, guiding me with his steady hand towards a life of balance and temperance. His unwavering support and belief in me have been my greatest strength. He deserves more recognition than words can express.
