Meet Giselle Spratley | Licensed Medical Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Giselle Spratley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Giselle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process in starting my own business was driven by a combination of my professional experiences and personal motivations. I’ve been a medical esthetician for three years, working in luxury medspas, wellness clinics, and dermatology offices. I had the privilege to learn from different fields in skin care, gaining the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality, personalized treatments. However, I wanted more freedom to create my own approach to client care, aligning with my vision of wellness and beauty. More than anything, my son inspired me to take this leap. As a single mom to a special needs child with autism, who’s non-verbal, I understand how important it is to create a flexible, supportive lifestyle that meets his needs while pursuing my own dreams. My son is my biggest motivator, and I wanted to build a business that allows me to be both present for him and committed to my clients. Starting my own company felt like the best way to do both.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Skin88 Studio is a healthy skin and acne clinic, soon to evolve into a full wellness medspa as I complete nursing school and become a Registered Nurse. My vision is to offer a holistic range of services, including injectables, laser hair removal/ laser facials, and advanced facial aesthetics. Currently, I specialize in treatments like lymphatic drainage facials, Buccal Massage, Facial Reflexology, Brazilian lymphatic body massages, sculptural lifting facelifts, advanced acne treatments, Hydrafacials & more.
What truly sets Skin88 Studio apart is the deeply personal, compassionate approach I bring to every client relationship. My clients are family, and I treat them with warmth, care, and genuine respect for their goals and needs. As a solo esthetician, I see myself not just as a business owner but also as a healer. This is a safe space, free of upselling or pushing unnecessary products. Instead, I work with each client individually to make skincare accessible and sustainable, whether by offering discounts, free items, or affordable alternatives. Their skin becomes my skin in a sense, and their progress and confidence means the world to me.
The name ‘Skin88’ isn’t just a title; the number 88 is an angel number representing abundance, and that’s exactly the feeling I want my clients to leave with. Abundance within themselves, both inside and out. My goal isn’t only financial success; it’s about fostering trust, empowerment, and beautiful lasting results. Building this business wasn’t easy, and there were challenges along the way, but with each step, I’ve learned how to stay true to my passion, trust the process, and prioritize my clients’ needs above all. That’s what I want the world to know about Skin88 Studio: it’s a place for ethical, results-driven skin care with heart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a huge foodie, so we would definitely start at my fav Ma & Pop places like Leo & Lilly for breakfast, Hungry Joes Caribbean food if were craving some fire oxtails, or Dan’s Super Subs for the best authentic Italian sandwiches! If we’re feeling fancy and craving seafood, we’re heading to Geoffrey’s for stunning views of the ocean while sipping cocktails!
I love scenic views and nature so we would definitely head over to Runyon Canyon for a morning hike. After freshening up, we can check out Griffith Observatory. The views of the city and Hollywood sign are iconic, plus it’s a great spot to catch a beautiful sunset.
Basketball season is among us, so you know we’re catching a game at Crypto Arena! Before we head to the game, we have to stop at either Dino’s Famous Chicken (another Ma & Pop hidden gem) or getting food at Grand Central Market is always a must. Downtown is another world in LA, so much history and fun events are always happening.
You can’t come to LA and not have a beach day at Malibu paired with some shopping later in Century City Mall! They have so many cool stores with unique finds and who doesn’t love a gorgeous outdoor mall that has everything?!
This mix of shopping, nature, iconic LA views, and great dining would definitely make for a memorable week!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my incredible support system. First, my family—who have always pushed me to keep going, especially on the hard days. Their encouragement and belief in me has given me strength to follow through, no matter the obstacles. I also owe so much to my friends, especially the women in business who’ve shared their wisdom and experience. They not only gave me invaluable advice on how to grow and succeed but also referred clients my way when I was just getting started, helping me build a foundation of trust and support.
And most importantly, my deepest gratitude goes to God. He placed this dream in my heart and has been with me through every step, opening doors I never expected and guiding me along this path. This journey has truly been blessed, and I’m incredibly grateful for all the love, support, and inspiration I’ve received along the way!
