We had the good fortune of connecting with Goddess Dorthea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Goddess, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic and creative career as a Spiritual Musician and Affirmation Poet because it allows me to express my deepest emotions and connect with others on a profound level. Creating art and music brings me immense joy and fulfillment, and it allows me to explore the depths of my imagination and share my unique perspective with the world. Through my artistic endeavors, I hope to inspire others, ignite their own creativity, and evoke powerful emotions that can transcend language and touch the very essence of the human spirit.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I offer a unique blend of spirituality, music, and affirmation poetry that sets me apart from others. I am most proud of my recent album, “The Goddess Awakens,” which is a culmination of my creative journey and a testament to my growth as an artist. This is my 10th studio project.

Getting to where I am today professionally has not been easy. I have faced numerous challenges along the way, but I have overcome them through perseverance, self-belief, and a deep connection to my artistic vision. These challenges have taught me valuable lessons about the importance of staying true to myself, embracing vulnerability, and pushing beyond my comfort zone.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am dedicated to spreading love, empowerment, and spiritual awakening through my art. My story is one of transformation and self-discovery, and I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journeys of personal growth and self-expression.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting the area, I would take them on a week-long adventure filled with the best experiences this place has to offer. Here’s a little itinerary that combines fun, interesting, and exciting activities:

Day 1:

We’d start our trip by heading to the Santa Monica Pier, where we’ll enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
For lunch, we’d grab some delicious seafood at one of the local seafood shacks nearby.
In the afternoon, we’d visit the Getty Center, an architectural masterpiece that houses an impressive collection of art from around the world.
In the evening, we’d catch a live music performance at one of the famous venues in the area, like The Troubadour or The Roxy.

Day 2:

We’d spend the morning exploring the vibrant Venice Beach, strolling along the boardwalk, and checking out the unique shops and street performers.
For lunch, we’d indulge in some mouthwatering tacos from one of the trendy food trucks that line the streets.
In the afternoon, we’d visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to immerse ourselves in the diverse world of art.
In the evening, we’d head to a poetry reading event organized by DSTL Arts. It would be an incredible opportunity to connect with local artists and enjoy thought-provoking performances.

Day 3:

We’d start our day by hiking in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains, enjoying the stunning views of the city and nature.
In the afternoon, we’d explore the bustling streets of Hollywood, taking pictures with the famous Walk of Fame stars and maybe even catching a movie at TCL Chinese Theatre.
In the evening, we’d unwind by attending a live comedy show at one of the iconic comedy clubs in the area, like The Comedy Store or The Laugh Factory.

Day 4:

We’d take a day trip to Malibu, where we can relax on the pristine beaches, soak up the sun, and maybe even try our hand at surfing.
For lunch, we’d enjoy a picnic with fresh local produce at one of Malibu’s scenic parks or overlooks.
In the evening, we’d head to a beachside restaurant and watch the mesmerizing sunset over the ocean while savoring a delicious dinner.

Day 5:

We’d spend our morning exploring the Griffith Observatory, taking in panoramic views of Los Angeles and learning about astronomy.
For lunch, we’d venture into Koreatown and enjoy some authentic Korean BBQ or savory street food.
In the evening, we’d go bar hopping in Downtown LA, discovering hidden speakeasies and enjoying craft cocktails.

Day 6:

We’d dedicate this day to exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of Downtown LA, like Arts District and Little Tokyo. We’d check out local galleries, street art, and unique shops.
For lunch, we’d savor some delicious fusion cuisine at one of the trendy restaurants in downtown.
In the afternoon, we’d visit The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), immersing ourselves in cutting-edge contemporary art.
In the evening, we’d attend a live music performance at one of the intimate venues in downtown, supporting local musicians and enjoying their incredible talent.

Day 7:

On our last day, we’d head to Universal Studios Hollywood for an action-packed day filled with thrilling rides and immersive movie experiences.
For lunch, we’d indulge in some classic American fare at one of the themed restaurants inside the park.
In the afternoon, we’d explore Universal CityWalk, shopping for souvenirs and enjoying live entertainment.
In the evening, we’d celebrate our amazing trip with a farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the glittering city lights.

This itinerary combines some of the best attractions, culinary delights, art experiences, and live performances that this area has to offer. I hope my best friend would have an unforgettable time exploring and immersing themselves in this vibrant city!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my grandmother Dorothy, who was an Evangelist and inspired me to pursue my passion for music before she passed away. Her guidance and teachings have shaped me into the artist I am today. I am also grateful for the mentors and coaches who have supported me throughout my journey, helping me grow and develop my skills. A special mention goes to my mother, Hope whose counseling has been invaluable, and my two daughters, Angel and Ally who constantly inspire me to be the best version of myself every day.
