We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregg Sharp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gregg, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by people and their stories. To truly become an asset to your community and to the planet I believe that you have to love to take in everyone’s story and show compassion, acceptance and understanding to those that want to be seen and heard.
The person down on their luck has a story, a story many times that has a meaning, purpose and a lesson to learn. But without listening to that person, you have left a value uncovered.
The person who has changed their life to meet their goals and desires can inspire you to reach for the brass ring! The person who works their 9-5 every day and raises their children can motivate you to get out and take responsibility for your decisions. The person who creates, the person who sings, the person who loves, the person who cries… they all inspire if you let them!
I choose to let them inspire me!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In life a little rain must fall… however if I tell you it’s raining, then you don’t need to look outside to see, just grab your umbrella!
This was an old adage that a close friend would say to me often, as well as to others, that I believe resonates to the ability to create meaningful business and personal relationships in which you know that your partner, friend or significant other can count on you as you on them! Through that I learned that the best path to success was to truly define who you are as that professional, and for me that started with integrity, honesty, and fairness.
I use these as the foundation of everything that I do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Los Angeles (work/live) and San Diego (work/live), but my heart resides in Los Angeles these days!
It is hard to get away from the miles of great surf and sand but for me here is a weeks worth of my favorite places to go!
– Gladstones in Malibu is a must eat landmark. This is the Sunday Brunch place to be. You can take in Malibu and the coast while staying under the radar but in the thick of things!
– If you are looking for fun times and just want to be a tourist the Hollywood walk of fame on a Monday is a great place to get your steps in!
– Tuesday’s are made for Taco’s and if Lebron and the Lakers are in town playing then you are sure to get him yelling Taco Tuesday during warm-ups at the Crypto Center.
– Catching a game at Dodger Stadium on a Wednesday is often times the pinnacle day to beat the traffic and catch 9 innings of fun!
– Thursday down at the street fairs in Hermosa Beach is always a great day to meet the locals and watch a sunset!
– Don’t forget to get your workouts in on Friday at Golds in Venice Beach where you never know if Arnold will be undercover doing a YouTube video!
– And to round out your week Saturday are a great day to go downtown and walk the museums and take in a bit of Natural History!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to Shout out to my children Aiden and Meegan. They make me want to do better every day! I have to also shout out all the people who support me and to the ones that said I could not do it. Motivation is a weird science and for many those that motivate you aren’t always the one’s telling you that you can! So, to all I thank you for the drive you give me whether you knew it or not!
A special shout out to Ana Vergara, my publicist, who no matter how busy I am, reminds me that the little things matter!
