We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregory Yuan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gregory, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is something that comes with the territory of being in the entertainment industry. The whole thing is essentially a risk as there are no guarantees in it. I try to live my life with the motto of you’ll never know if you don’t try, so even if something seems scary I have learned to just do it scared.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most excited for the work that is to come, as I have been building the skills and talents along the way toward bigger and better. Of course as many will tell you it’s never easy in the industry, a lot of the bigger gigs truly come down to who you know, whether it’s a rapport you’ve built from auditioning with Casting Directors, past projects, or agents that then open the door for you (If you are not lucky enough to just out right know some people who can help you along the way as I unfortunately am not.) The biggest lesson has probably been perseverance. There will always be ups and downs in this industry and weathering the storm of that is not easy thing; from the mental to the financial strain it will put on your life and those directly tied to you. I want the world to know that it truly takes a village as no one can go it alone in this industry. And I want my story to be one of mutual success, for myself and those who want others to succeed as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think that LA is blessed in that it has truly so many different aspects of things to do, from pop-up stores to Ktown to beaches & hikes to beautiful malls and areas and so much more. I would say the iconic Griffith Observatory is one that holds a special place as it’s a beautiful and iconic spot (that also holds a special place as some scenes from La La Land were also shot there). Likewise some AYCE (All You Can Eat) Korean BBQ in Ktown is unmatched. There’s some beautiful malls like the Glendale Galleria or The Grove and if they’re willing to travel south to Disneyland there’s also the Anaheim Packing District as well as some beautiful beaches like Corona Del Mar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would absolutely love to give some credit to the constant support and belief from my family and friends, as well as the artistic and talented group at Studio 24 Seven.
