We had the good fortune of connecting with Griffin Intrieri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Griffin, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Burlingame California, a little suburb south of San Francisco. I grew up in a family of 6, myself being the eldest of 4 siblings. I have an incredible relationship with each one of siblings, two younger sisters and a younger brother, and a wonderful relationship with both of my parents.

I went to elementary, middle, and High School in Burlingame. Sports consumed a great portion of my life during this time, as I took baseball and football quite seriously, in hopes to play one or the other in college. With that being said, music was a bit of an afterthought for me. I didn’t get into production until the end of my senior year in college. Because of the camaraderie involved with sports and my relationship with my family, it makes sense to me now why I love collaborating with other fellow creatives. I cherish my relationships with others and thrive off the energy that a strong team chemistry can bring. Aside from my parents instilling a strong work ethic in me as a child, I am thankful for my time in sports, as it has provided me with a strong work ethic and has taught me patience as well. All of this has served me quite well thus far on my journey with and in music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would consider myself primarily a producer, although I do engineer and play a couple instruments moderately well. As far as genres go, I’d say I am sort of all over the place, but primarily RnB/Hip-Hop. At this point in my career, I am here to service artists/creatives in any way I can. Whether that be creating a whole project with someone, helping an artist record vocals, or introducing fellow creatives to one another so that they can develop a relationship and blossom. Simply put, I would like to be apart of something bigger than myself and creating music that I love and am proud to show others. I recently began renting my own studio space with a friend of mine out in Burbank where everything I mentioned above is becoming possible. We call the studio space “The Playground” and this is something I am incredibly excited about.

Honestly I have no idea how I got to where I am today. I wouldn’t say the path I have taken was all that difficult per say. This isn’t to say it was a walk in the park, but the people I have surrounded myself with and have met along the way have made my journey so far that much easier. I would say getting out of one’s comfort zone, within reason, is probably the greatest lesson iv’e learned thus far. Any progress I have achieved has come from getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. Patience is a big one as well, especially in the music industry. Overnight success typically occurs because of the hours put in prior.

As of right now, there isn’t a grandiose message I feel the need or want to tell the world. For now, I am just here to make music that I would be proud to show my friends and family.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, he would know that I am a simple man and wouldn’t expect me to want to do much. Some coffee and good conversation would probably be the start of the day. There’s too many coffee shops in LA, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I have been going to Cafe Nido a lot recently. Great ambiance. After that, maybe go on a hike in Silverlake or Los Feliz somewhere. I love taking tiny trips to those places specifically because they remind mea bit of the bay area. The people are a bit more down to earth and full of character, as are the streets. I would also walk around these areas and try to visit as many flea markets as possible.

Probably have to go back home and take a nap after that. As an introvert at heart, I’d probably have to re-charge my battery. Hopefully there is some sort of music event/Album release party or up and coming artists show that we’d be able to go to. Please and Thank you and Sunday Sounds are a couple great communities for creatives to mingle and listen to great music. And that’s pretty much a chill day for me. I usually leave the itinerary planning up to other 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family 100%. They were my biggest supporters when I decided to pursue music and at a very pivotal time in my life might I add. At a time where I would say most family members would advise against such a pursuit. I’d also not be here quite literally without my parents. They have always been providers for me, always making sure I am well off and taken care of. I owe them everything
