We had the good fortune of connecting with Hadley Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hadley, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Connecting fans to their favorite artists is the most rewarding part of my job. When fans have an artist that they love/relate to so much and I’m able to build the bridge, it helps fans not only feel connected to the artist but to each other. It gives them a sense of community and belonging.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I worked really hard to get to where I am today. When I was in kindergarten, I was diagnosed with dyslexia so I really struggled in school. While all the kids were practicing reading and math, I was writing songs in my head and working up plans to convince my family to move to Nashville from my little hometown in the Bay Area. Even as a kid, I knew I wanted to work in music somehow.

Fast forward to 2016, I moved to Nashville to pursue a degree in songwriting and marketing at Middle Tennessee State. I met Jade Driver, co-founder of Crowd Surf, the first week of March 2020 (one week prior to the pandemic). By that point, I only had a few months left of college and I already knew I wanted to work on the social media side of the industry – working at Crowd Surf was a dream job. In May 2020, the day I graduated college, I received the job offer and I haven’t looked back.

If I’ve learned one thing these past few years, it’s that there’s a difference between wanting to work in the music industry and needing to work in the music industry. I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s a lifestyle but it’s the best thing in the entire world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For breakfast, we’d definitely have to hit Cafe Mimosa in Topanga Canyon! It’s a nice break from the LA chaos. My favorite vintage store, Hidden Treasures Vintage, is also across the street! If we’re looking for a traditional breakfast, we’d have to hit Patty’s in Toluca Lake – their pancakes are SO good.

For lunch or dinner, Malibu Seafood is my favorite! I love a good clam chowder bread bowl (definitely the San Franciscan in me). Stella Barra Pizza in Venice is also on my list as well as The Old Place nestled in the Malibu mountains.

We’d definitely need to watch some live music! The Echo and The Mint have some great bands!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’m constantly inspired by the founders of Crowd Surf – Cassie Petrey and Jade Driver. Their dedication to music is so inspiring and I continue to learn so much from them.

And of course, I owe everything to my family for helping me pursue my dreams of working in the music industry. I owe so much to my mom, especially (she passed 3 years ago). It’s been a wild ride to get here and I couldn’t be more grateful.
