Meet Hannah Bell Tringham | Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Bell Tringham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah Bell, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been drawn to creating—whether it was baking, painting, or building something from scratch, I’ve had a natural drive to explore, improve, and reimagine. That creative instinct showed up early: of course I always loved to draw, by age 10 I was rearranging my bedroom just for fun, and by 12 I was tracing over floor plans and dreaming up new layouts. I’m naturally competitive, so I’ve always pushed myself to refine my work and think one step ahead. When I realized I could turn my passion for design into a career—actually help people shape the spaces they live in—I never looked back. Design is my flow state. The process of bringing ideas to life and making a space feel just right is endlessly rewarding. I feel incredibly lucky to do this work every day!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run a residential and commercial interior design firm based in Los Angeles, with a focus on elevated, livable spaces that reflect a casual California sensibility. What sets my work apart is the tailored, hands-on approach I bring to every project—no cookie-cutter designs, just thoughtful, intentional spaces that truly reflect the people living or working in them. My style blends relaxed West Coast vibes with clean lines and curated details, and my clients trust me to bring both creativity and clarity to the process.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but every challenge helped shape the business I’ve built. I started my business as a single woman without a second income, which made the leap feel even bigger. But I used the slow seasons to sharpen my business plan, build my brand, and deepen my network. I worked hard to find new clients and opportunities—and that consistency paid off. I’m proud to say my business is thriving, and I’m especially excited about the caliber of clients and projects I’m now attracting.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to wait for the perfect conditions to go after what you want. I want other women—especially young, single women—to know that they can start the business. They can take the leap. You don’t need to wait for more support or someone to give you permission. Just make sure you have a solid plan, real passion, and the drive to keep going even when it gets tough. That’s how you build something that lasts.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d plan a mix of beach days, design inspo, and a few LA staples.
We’d start with coffee at Satchi.LA, then bike to the beach to soak up the sun and energy of the boardwalk. Evenings would include dinners around Culver City—Father’s Office is a must—and a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains with my dog is non-negotiable. We’d spend an afternoon at The Broad or the Getty for a little art and inspiration, then balance it out with a lazy pool day.
We’d squeeze in a day trip to Joshua Tree or head up to Santa Barbara for a quick overnight escape. One night we’d catch a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and of course, we’d wrap at least one day watching the sunset in Santa Monica.
I love showing off this city to friends!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe a huge part of my growth as a designer to the incredible professors I had at San Jose State—they were the ones who lit the fire early on and pushed me to think critically and creatively. Beyond school, my last two bosses were instrumental in shaping my foundation. They taught me the ins and outs of design and gave me the space to improve and grow. Starting my own business was a big leap, but it was built on everything I learned working under them.
And a special shoutout goes to Rebecca Quandt—she’s been my sounding board and a constant source of inspiration within the design community. I wouldn’t be where I am without the support and guidance of these key people.
