Meet Hannah Stouffer: Director, H+ Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Stouffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Honestly, risk is everything.

There have been very few moments where I knew exactly what I was doing, where I felt comfortable, like things were easy, felt like I was the most experienced or completely well versed in what I was signing on for.

I’m usually totally diving in, focusing more on the challenge then the discomfort, learning as I go, guessing with confidence and telling myself that I can figure it out, because I can.

My careers have been based off the risks of saying yes, rather than maybe, or I don’t think I can. You always can, sometimes it just might be a completely new, unfamiliar territory- and that challenge to overcome and follow through and succeed is the best part.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m super proud to run a woman owned and operated boutique creative studio that represents a tight-knit roster of top-tier, diverse international artists. We work directly with clients and collaborators, specializing in everything from digital to traditional illustration, 3D, motion and animation to visuals and experiential installation. We handle creative both in-house and through our extensive team of creatives who we truly consider to be the best of the best.

I founded H+ Creative in 2015, after years of working as a commercial illustrator and artist myself. The entire basis of the studio is driven by my experiences as an artist and built around the ideas I have of the best way to support working visual artists and pride myself on a deeply-rooted network of I maintain in the creative industry.

The projects we partner on and creatives that we love can be found across the globe, our presence is universal. We don’t believe in restrictions and know that the future is infinite.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m new to Venice, so I’m still getting my bearings, but I’m obsessed with the beach and everything that it’s about.

My perfect morning is to wake up slow and drink some tea around my house, enjoy the sun on the front porch or back patio and get a feel for the day. I love a mellow surf session, or a group exercise class, outdoors and on the beach.

Lunches over here are perfect for to-go style picnics Rainbow Acres is my favorite grab and go health food / market. I love the other massive ones, but I’d rather support the smaller guys.

I spend a lot of time in the parks with my pup, Clover park or down by the marina these days to hang with the sea lions.
If I’m feeling it, I’ll bike back down to the beach for sunset, to see the crowd that comes out. It’s an amazing mix of locals, tourist and California weirdos that I can’t get enough of.

Gialina on Abbot Kinney has a perfect to go wine and pizza hang that I’ll hit on the way back home.

I know the east side of LA like the back of my hand, and of course the pandemic effects what’s open so getting to know the west side has been a bit of a slow process… but I’m finding some treasures along the way! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout all of the incredible talents and visual artists that I have worked with over the years that allowed me to learn and grow and on expand what I thought was possible. The friends and collaborators that have thrown opportunities my way, and the ones that have been open to my antics and ideas. Of course huge appreciation to the incomparable artist roster over at H+ Creative that I’m so fortunate to continue to work with and support on a daily basis. We headed straight to the moon, and everyone is invited.
