Meet Harrison Silverstein

We had the good fortune of connecting with Harrison Silverstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Harrison, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I came from a separated family, born and raised in Southern California Mom and Dad separated when I was still a toddler so most of my upbringing and dealing with custody, etc was normal to me. Even at a young age I was very aware about my family situation, nothing was dumbed down or “babied” to me. I attribute that to the reason why I was able to be very mature and grounded at an early age.
I joined the United States Marine Corps out of high school for both personal and financial reasons, I didn’t want my parents to pay for 4 years of college especially when I was undecided on what I wanted to do, and I also felt the USMC would round me out as a person. (it did)

What should our readers know about your business?
My company, Coastline Capital Fund Management, is a Private Equity Fund that specializes in Real Estate. We purchase Mortgages and Real Estate across the country. Its a niche within a niche and it definitely was not easy to break into.
For me personally, it started with learning how to invest and getting the mentorship and education to do successful deals myself, and then to progress hobby investment into a full scale business I had to build relationships with businesses normally outside of the average person’s reach.
It took a lot of time but with time and focus you start to get in front of the right people.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a huge foodie, so definitely all my favorite restaurants are on the list, and probably seeing the sights and sounds around the city. For me everything revolves around eating good food so I choose my activities around where good food is haha.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out is dedicated to my Dad, Todd. He was always an iconoclast business wise. Where most people grow up being told that finding a good stable career or salary position is the goal in life, my dad was saying, no son you’re going to be an entrepreneur. It was probably one of the first words he taught me (only somewhat kidding).
Although at a young age I did want to pave my own path, and I did, at the end of the day I realized once growth and progression was stunted at whatever job or career I found myself in, I would lose any motivation in my work and end up leaving some time after. The only way I knew I was going to be promised growth and progression is if I awarded it to myself. My dad had a huge part in that influence.
My close circle of friends and family also deserve a shoutout, Being an entrepreneur can be a very isolating and lonely experience so having that support from loved one(s) is huge and I couldn’t do it with out their encouragement and support.
